Just when I thought hospitality had really died, I found myself in a small hotel with the most friendliest welcome and customer service that was beyond 5 star. The hotel is clean and very modern and the breakfast was fresh and lovely. Being a female, lone business traveller i didn´t in any way feel intimidated to be in the hotel.... More

Reading is always a problem for getting a good hotel at a decent price i.e. there usually isnt any - they are all either full or overpriced. The Thameside is between a b&b and a hotel. The good points - Friendly staff, all facilities are there, good TV, wifi, reasonable decoration, free parking. Not so good - expensive, not like... More

Overall positive experience in Thameside Hotel. It's more a B&B than a real hotel, but fit perfectly my needs: cheap, good location in Reading (15 min walking from the center), clean, free wifi connection. Breakfast is expensive considering what offered.

We had an excellent welcome, nothing seemed too much trouble, including putting our cool box in a place where it could be plugged into an electric socket, thereby saving the picnic brought for the Henley Regatta the next day! The hotel was within easy distance of the river and Henley. We chose to have a cold breakfast, but there was... More

We arrived earlier than expected and the lady was obviously busy however nothing was too much trouble. As 2 couples with 2 rooms, she managed to have the 2 rooms ready whilst we had a lovely coffee. The rooms were airy and our room (18) was large, bright and lovely. Air conditioning worked well as it was a hot night... More

- Hotel without lift (however the receptionist has volunteered himself to take my luggage upstairs) - Hotel without air conditioner (only inside the rooms) - Wi-fi only upon request (and only 1 device is allowed) - Phone jack with some dust - Fire alarm very sensitive (with just only the steam from the shower, it rang) - Dinner only permitted... We would like to address your review as it is untrue and does not reflect the standards and service we offer at Thameside. We are an independent hotel and we pride ourselves on our service to all guests, this ensures we stay in business as we have for over 30 years. WIFI is Free and we offer unlimited devices. A... The photos on the website of the rooms are not accurate - the rooms are tired and dated and there were hairs in my bed. The staff were attentive and friendly, but overall the hotel did not represent value for money.

Comfortable and newly refurbished rooms. It does the job for a quick stay close to the train station. Very good customer service and friendly staff. Watch out though if you use the car park and drive a wide car as the driveway is extremely narrow.

Stayed at the Thameside for one night as it was cheaper than the branded hotels in Reading. I was greeted by a pleasant man who shoed me to my room. It faced the rear of the hotel so was very quiet. Room was clean and well maintained with kettle/tea/coffee and a modern TV. Bathroom was also of a good standard... More
