even reading's strongest supporters would acknowledge (a) it ain't a cheap town and (b) it ain't a particularly exciting one. but if work or (less plausibly) leisure takes you there, you could do plenty worse than stay here - a bit soulless, perhaps, but friendly reception, good views from higher floors and - the clincher - v handy for railway...

I stayed at the IBIS Reading Hotel one night on a business trip. It's main plus point is the location, close to the city centre and more tempting.
Other than that it seems to suffering from some weird 1990's art deco throwback, all abstract colours against white backgrounds, but all looking really worn out.
