A group of around 10 of us stayed here during the annual Reading Regatta and the hotel was perfect for our purposes, being a stones throw away from Reading Rowing Club. Staff were really accommodating and helpful when it came to sorting out rooms. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, perhaps a little dated but as 10 students who'd spent... More

This is a basic B&B. It is very clear that this hotel (which consists of a string of buildings along the road) is run purely for profit and no effort is made by the staff to provide anything more than a basic level of service. It is not manned past 9pm so if you arrive close to that time you... More

I stayed here for 3 nights while on a course at Reading University's London Road Campus. The lady on reception was lovely, and even helped me out with parking issues due to arriving back late each evening. The breakfast is served in a nearby restaurant but I would advise that you avoid the breakfast and walk 3 minutes down the... More

My husband and I spent just over a week here when we came to Reading househunting. Our room was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location was ideal since we were looking at houses in Caversham and the hotel was in walking distance of Caversham and Reading city centre. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, offering advice and encouragement... More

We stayed here for the Reading Festival Weekend. In contrast to the bad review, I have nothing but positive comments to make. The staff were happy to help and always polite, to the extent they even looked after our luggage, let us have our room early and even rang us when the room became available. The room itself was ample... More

My family of three stayed in Caversham Hotel Lodge between 24.6.08 and 27.6.08. We got a family room facing the main road. A little of traffic noise but we slept through it without any problem. The booking was done through telephone and e-mail without any hassle whatsoever. Dealt with a person named Nick, who The lady receptionist was also very... More

We stayed at this "hotel" in July this year and I having travelled extensively throughout the UK, I have never stayed in a worse "hotel". We made a complaint to Reading Tourist Board. When you arrive you are taken along the road to where you are actually staying. We had specifically asked for a quite, double, non smoking room and... More

The Review here is slanderous to say the least and I am surprised that a Trip Advisor member has written it! We have never had a complaint to the Reading Tourist Board nor the trading Standards you should have this checked before you go to print! The majority of our business is by recomendation or repeat. The customer was shown... More
