First impressions were good, the lobby looked nice enough. That was unfortunately where it ended. Drab rooms and paper thin walls is what is to be expected at this Hotel. Every cough, every sneeze, every noise above a whisper will be overheard in the box like room we stayed in. There is also a problem with the heating system, which... more

Reception looked impressive but customer service was offhand to non-existent. This set the tone for our weekend stay which we cut short after the first awful night. Room: Scruffy, door off the unit, insufficient lighting, the window wouldn't close and the teamaking tray was on an unfixed shelf which collapsed when you pulled the tray out! A bit more worrying... more

Brick building being built in stages car park at the front - Entrance by the side. Off busy road leading into the city. Well connected to M4 which helps for a quick exit. Minimal numbers of staff. Average rooms with no wow factor. The restaraunt while spacious is again without atmosphere. During our stay me and my business associates got... more

Comfortable room, and reasonable rate compared to the average for Reading (which seems quite high). Hotel staff were all friendly and helpful, and were happy to give me a different room (as I wanted a non-smoking one). Nice large room which was clean, but rooms at the front get alot of traffic noise. Breakfast was OK (apart from the grapefruit... more

Saturday 12 Jan 2008. Stayed for one night and found it to be a reasonable hotel. It was perfectly located for us, as it was 2 minutes walk from the people we went to see in Reading. Price was good and included a full english. Reception was fast and efficient. The room was fairly standard Holiday Inn Express sort, but... more

Is three stories but apparently no planning permission for this so having the top floor pulled down at some point, the lift appears never to have worked since it opened judging by other reviews. The food was nice but overpriced for what it was and the wine list was great - only they had run out of everything! The room... more

Friends, my partner and I stayed for 2 nights in June. On arrival, the hotel staff told us we had booked for 3 nights when we had only booked for 2 and eventually conceded that we would only be staying for 2 nights and therefore would only pay for 2 nights. Our room was large and clean but stank of... more

To be honest I have stayed at this hotel on probably 3 occasions it is worth a try when all other hotels are full or vastly overpriced as Reading is prone to be! Everytime the building work has progressed from my previous visit. Noticeably the cleanliness has improved and also the breakfast has come on leaps and bounds.I did have... more

This place was okay but was definitely not 4* (which is what it was quoted as being when I booked it) and was not worth the money I paid either. More of a 3*. Breakfast was good but that was about the only plus side. On arrival, we stood at reception for about 15 minutes before someone came along to... more

First off, on the website listings we looked at for this hotel, it seemed to have many ameneties, but when we got there, they were still building it. We were directed to our room, using the stairs, as the lift wasn't finished yet. In the room, builders were in the courtyard outside our window, which echoed and building works were... more
