Stayed a night. Reported to reception that the shower wasn't working at 6.45 and was told that maintenance will be told. Next morning, I found out that it was still not working. This is basically a place where working people stay so not great to go for business meeting without a shower. All I got was a mumbled apology. Minimal... More

Clean, efficient, helpful - no fuss. Rainbows Lodge offered good value for money with parking, Wifi and a basic breakfast. It is close to the river and town - great location. The on-site pizza restaurant was a favorite - we ate there both nights, with colleagues recommending it to others.

This was a great apartment in a fab location for visiting Reading centre. Yes it was cheap and cheerful but it did exactly what it said on the tin. A short walk to reading town and also to the nearby Thames to watch the world go by. The room had all the facilities one requires and the use of the... More

I've stayed in many Reading hotels. I stayed here for the first time this week.... Starting with the positive... Bed comfortable, good tea coffee biscuit selection in room, tv channels varied, reception accommodating, good value, reasonable restaurants next to hotel... The neutral... A five to ten minute walk to town, managed to mess up reservation slightly but quickly sorted, rooms... More

This hotel deserves better than 30 out of 32. I've stayed there 3 or 4 times and have always been satisfied and well received. yes, it is an older building but it is clean and quiet. The person at the front desk has always been helpful, friendly, courteous and kind. I am pleased to be able to make a 10... More

The Hotel seems a little worn out. There are a lot of narrow stairs. The room was small but quiet - ok. There is a small parking lot behind the hotel. Complimentary breakfast in the pizzaria on the corner. We stayed one night. The hotel is in walking distance from the city and shopping, the station and the Thames river.

My daughter and I stayed for one night ahead of Reading festival as we wanted to get there early next morning. The hotel is in a central location, there were 2 parking spaces available when we arrived at 9.30 pm. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 2 which faced out on the car park at the... More

Stayed for 1 night. The site says there is limited free parking onsite but does not mention that there appears to be no alternative parking within quick walking distance if that is taken. There are a few on-street parking spaces that become unlimited after 6 but they are like gold dust. Had a minor issue on arrival .. they had... More

The rooms are clean and comfortable. Very good location. Nice reception and good service. But the hotel is little congested and staircases are very basic. No lift is available. My office was near as well as Reading railway station.

The hotel is located on the busy Cavendish road halfway between the bridge and the station 5 mins walk either way. The receptionist is friendly and the rooms look basic but pleasant ...However... The Bathroom is as basic as it's plastic decor and smelt of damp. which comes form the missing curtain rail & no safety rail in sight, make... More
