I have just stayed at the Hotel with my 13 year old. We booked online in June and got a real bargin but the hotel was so basic it was awful. We had a bodged job in the bathroom, there had been a hole in the floor it had been mended with a silicon! There was no hairdryer. The beds... more

Completely standardised moterway accommodation. The room is clean with cheap furniture in good condition. Do not expect any service - these are just places to sleep for the night. Expensive normally, part of the uk morotway rip off, but ok if you tahe advantage of the £15 or £21 special rates in 2007. Only problem I have had is arriving... more

My friend & I have stayed in this travelodge several times due to the location (it is very close to pubs/clubs/restaurants/shops etc) and we absolutely love Reading itself. However this is officially our last visit to this particular travelodge (unless it is an absolute last resort!). In previous years we have managed to get a cheap deal - this travelodge... more

The Travelodge building is showing its age when compared with the competition across the road. The interior is however servicable and clean, the staff polite and helpfull. An arterial road link is beside the hotel and the source of some noise. The disabled room was typical and we were lucky to find a disabled parking spot beneath the hotel. Turn left out... more

Unfortunately you have to click at least one star for this hotel, you can't select 0 out of 5. Although we paid the cheap rate of £19 per night. I would have much prefered to sleep in my car. Location was great, very central and very cheap for the room. The room however was so basic. I've stayed in this... more

Stayed 3 nights as visiting wifes son and to take in the Regatta at Henley. Only paid £29.00 per night and also pre-booked breakfast. Room as expected basic but noisy even with the window closed due to heavy traffic. No air-con so fan used but noisy through the night. Bathroom not cleaned well at all. As for cleaning the room... more

Stayed one night in February 2009 having booked in advance at £9 for the room. Typical Travelodge, basic but clean and there was a good supply of hot water for the shower. The room heater did not work but this was quickly and efficiently sorted out. The room fronted the street and a fair amount of street noise could be... more

Jan 4, 2009 | Trip type: Family

We booked a family room for 2 adults and 3 children (4.5yrs, 2.5yrs and 1 month old) about a month in advance for a day away before a family birthday party, paid £32.00 and thought we had a bargain...... probably should have checked here first but assumed that a Travelodge is a Travelodge, oh how wrong we were! I could... more

A typical Travelodge. A good sized room, quiet (we were on the 'quiet side though, not the dual-carriageway side) clean and warm. Shower only, no bath. Well located just a couple of minutes walk from the town centre. We parked on street on the Sunday but the multi-storey used by the hotel is close by, and by Reading standards remarkably... more

The main thing I liked about Travelodge Reading Central was that I got a fairly spacious room for a reasonable price by booking in advance. The hotel is also well-located, only 5-10 minutes walk from the main shopping areas and restaurants. I didn't pre-book breakfast but changed my mind when I arrived so it cost me £7.50 each time. Not... more
