Our dismay when we saw the exterior of this Travelodge was soon allayed when we entered the building. Our warm welcome followed by the clean and comfortable room soon put our minds at rest. The exterior is about to undergo refurbishment - scaffolding was being erected during our stay! Our only problem was traffic noise, thicker curtains would have helped... More

We stayed one night in Reading after attending a birthday party in the town. The hotel was in a very central location but still quiet and peaceful within with the triple glazing in the room. The room was very comfortable and the new "dreamer" bed was very comfortable with plump pillows. Also the room was cheaper than a taxi home... More

Its a OK hotel nothing to special but can't complain with some of the prices we have paid for this hotel. Rooms are big but the hotel feels updated in places specially outside. Hotel is in a good location near all the main shops. I would recommend staying at the novatel which is a lot better and price is only... More

Right near the town centre and not far from the rail station. Noisy night as close to main road awake at 6 am as traffic starts to come in . No cafe for cooked breakfast. Just wished They offered 2 thin pillows as well as 2 thick pillows as I sleep only on 1 thin pillow. Comfy bed and duvet.

I was surprised with some of the reviews for this hotel. I have stayed in some awful travelodges in my time so my expectations for this hotel were not great. We booked it in advance and got a room for 3 people for £33, so just £11 per person. I was very pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look great from outside... More

I have stayed in many Travelodges in the past, several being in the city centre like this one, but never have I had such a disturbed night's sleep or such apathy from one member of staff. The rooms were roasting: great if I visited in winter but I was there in JULY! The duvet was so thick it would keep... More

I have been here a few times and don’t really like it. It is not a typical Travelodge. It looks to me that they have bought a former hotel site and rebranded it. It is a tower block in the rough end of Reading Central. You have to park your car about a 10 minute walk from the Travelodge. In... More

This hotel was very conviently located right in the centre of reading, however looks like a prison cell from the outside! Got in the bedroom, first impressions were ok and then went to go to bed and discovered blood on the pillow case which looked fresh and it was from neither myself or my partner! This obviously appauled myself and... More

Average travelodge, the hotel room was spacious and had the facilities, however the bathroom was atrocious! My girlfriend went to have a shower and the water completely overflowed the shower pan onto the bathroom floor, because the drain was blocked!! Complained to the manager about this but was assured that this is a problem being dealt with, apparently it is... More

Location is just 2 minutes from the centre of Reading, so the family rooms are exceptional value. Service was excellent with very helpful and friendly staff on the from desk. The hotel looks very dated from the outside but the reception areas and the rooms had been refurbished, they were clean and well kept. No air con, so summer nights... More
