Stayed here while touring the area, nice rooms, serve very nice food with a good selection. Good cask ales and good selection of wines at a reasonable price. Good breakfast and friendly staff.Would stay and eat here again in future. Angela & Tony from Manchester.

I have to say, as a local, we booked the DofM for my Dads 70th Birthday lunch and as usual the service and food quality was great. We booked about 2 months ago and everything was exactly as expected. The service was perfect. I have been to the DofM on a number of occasions and I have never been disappointed... More

We didn't actually stay there. Our booking for 3 rooms in May (booked last October) had been lost so no room at the Inn. I asked about stables but no luck. However the staff (especially the landlord) could not have been more helpful in finding us alternative rooms. A bad experience made good with great courtesy and apology.

One night stay with friends prior to visiting Blenheim Palace the next day. Our room (107) had a rather unpleasant smell, sort of 'mould covered up by bitumen' type smell. Had we been staying more than one night, would have had to draw it to their attention. Assumed it was down to the age of the property, although it wasn't... More

This was a last minute booking to tie in with a reunion so knew nothing about the pub. Very warm welcome on arrival, by staff and the lovely log fires burning in the bar and dining room. Large party were having lunch but the staff still took good care of people coming into the pub for drinks/lunch. There was a... More

Spent one night here. Lovely area and the pub/restaurant very good. Three of us had a three course evening meal with wine and a few extra drinks came to £90 very reasonable. Highly recommended. Room was lovely and enough space. Beds comfortable with extra pillows and blankets. Breakfast selection excellent and well cooked.

Booking the hotel at the last minute and not knowing what to expect. On arrival welcomed by a friendly competent member of staff. The room was excellent, very clean and comfortable. Our evening meal was perfect and service was excellent. After meal enjoyed the warmth of an open fire, very friendly revellers. All in all a great night and would... More

Stopped here for a meal. Food came out quickly from kitchen (a bad sign) and before we'd started eating the waiter asked if everything was ok - I assumed he meant had we got everything we'd asked for. Part way through the meal a waitress also asked if everything was ok and I told her the roast lamb was very... More
