Went to Woodstock for 3 nights over the August Bank Hol to see the classic car show at Blenheim (very good!). Firstly, we didn't stay at the Punchbowl Inn as we'd already got accommodation elsewhere, so can only speak for the restaurant, at which we ate every evening. You know what it's like - tried it once, loved it, kept... More

We stayed overnight on Friday at The Punchbowl Inn in Woodstock. We had decided to ignore previous bad reports as it had new owners. We found it to be a lovely Pub and a great place to stay during our visit to Blenheim Palace. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful and the room we stayed in was... More

Came here for one night and stayed two, that says a lot! Had read reviews and ignored the older ones. The new owners are very friendly and welcoming, the public areas are beautifully presented as was the room we stayed in. We mentioned a minor problem with the loo seat and it was fixed whilst we were out. There has... More

Six of us called in for a drink and found a real gem. The staff were exceptionally friendly, the new décor was superb and the beers very well kept. The hanging baskets around the pub were spectacular. We look forward to returning soon.

We stayed here last night ( Sat ,2nd August) for 1 night as we were attending a wedding at Blenheim Palace. Upon arrival we had no problem parking in guest hotel private carpark and we warmly greeted by the owner. It is in the vcentre of Woodstock and a 10 min walk from Blenheim Palace. In the afternoon we stopped... More

Myself, my partner, father and 10 month old daughter popped in for lunch after visiting the Blenheim Palace. We had an extremely friendly welcome and the patio garden was nice to relax in. Unfortunately there were no high chairs available though as these were on order and had not arrived yet (the pub had recently been took over and refurbished).... More

Stayed here with my partner last week and we were thrilled with the standard of accommodation and friendliness at the Punchbowl. We were told that it has recently changed hands and the new owners have thoroughly refurbished the premises. Robert and Maureen couldn't do enough to help us and gave us plenty of advice on things to do in the... More

We booked this hotel as we were going to the "battle of the proms" at Blenheim Palace. This is the perfect location, the hotel was clean and there are new owners, who made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was good and the owners are very helpful and friendly. They told us that they will be refurbishing the hotel over... More

Robert had only been running the place for 3 weeks when we stayed here. He's doing a tremendous job. The room was nice and clean. The dinner and breakfast were excellent. Robert is a lovely man, and the locks in the pub were all warm and friendly. Could not recommend it higher!

My wife and my friend arrived just about an hour before the new owners took over this lovely inn. They apologised for the mess, (they were re-decorating the bar and lounge areas), but said the bedrooms were unaffected. They welcomed us in a jovial manner and showed us to our rooms. We had a spacious, well-decorated, room at the front... More
