I booked this B&B on Expedia. When I reached the guest-house, the land-lady told me that there was a mistake, she blamed Expedia for messing up the bookings and eventually she managed to put me in a free room. This was a big triple room! Jolly good so far. The day after that room was taken, so the land-lady moved... More

We stayed for one evening, after booking very last minute. The owners were incredibly helpful and always friendly. The location could not have been better and the room itself was lovely. The morning breakfast was perfect and a lovely end to our stay. We would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

I have recently relocated to Oxford and needed a friendly Place to stay for two weeks whilst I waited for my work 'live in' accommodation to be available. I have never felt so relaxed during my stay. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. They even accommodated my fussy eating at breakfast. The decor is... More

Could sit here all day and write how beautiful the guest house is and how much I enjoyed my stay. Me and my partner wanted a romantic break away and even tho we live in Oxfordshire a break away from the children on our anniversary was truly needed. So what more could we want a guest house just minutes from... More

Spent just one night at Lakeside Guesthouse. What a beautifully decorated, clean, friendly and value for money place this is. Onsite parking, friendly proprietors and very close to the centre of Oxford. Delicious English breakfast with added fresh fruit, yoghurt so, tea and toast, as much as you wanted. Worthy of its Trip Advisor excellence award. When heading back to... More

We booked a six night stay at Lakeside and knowing that we would be arriving late at night (11 pm) we asked the proprietor if this would be a problem. We were assured that it would be okay. However on arrival, the code which we had been given for the secure box where the door key was located didn't work... More

Booked a short break here with my sister and her husband. They arrived two nights before us. The hosts knew we would be arriving very late evening and gave them a key code number to let themselves in. The number did not work. There was no way to contact the owners who did not answer the bell or the phone.... More

The guest house is perfectly located and great if you have a young family. It is clean, has generously sized rooms and the owner/staff are lovely. There is a wonderful park next door with a small lake, outdoor heated pool and play area. We will defintely be staying here again!

We stayed at the Lakeside for 2 nights from 29th June 2015. It's quite easy to find, just head south on the Abingdon Road for about 15 minutes, past the Folly Bridge, or if you prefer any bus that goes along this road, for a couple of stops. Taxis are about a fiver. The guest house is located next to... More

Their room with "private bath" means a stumble down the dark hall and down some stairs. With key in hand. We found it completely unacceptable. Parking very difficult. No lake in sight. We paid a penalty to escape. Extremely steep stairs to upper rooms.
