I stayed at Lakeside Guest house during my last business trip in the UK. The owners are really polite and friendly. The room which i stayed was clean and quite. It was warm even though the outside temperature was almost zero. WiFi connection was stable and pretty quick. I had no problem to read/send emails and listen to some music.... More

We have recently stayed at the lakeside guest house and had a very pleasant stay, We stayed in room No 9 and it was spacious with plenty of storage, the bed was beautifully done to match the decor the only issue was it was soft, but you can't please everyone, the room has a sofa bed and extra heater and... Nice breakfast, cramped room, tiny bathroom which was a bit run down, but functional. The staff attitude was businesslike. The guest house is located a bit far from the sights and shopping area. It would be best suited for guests with cars, I suppose. It was OK, but a bit too pretentious for the comfort that it provided.

Quaint and friendly guesthouse, well located, clean and stylish with a beautiful breakfast. From the moment we arrived, the owner greeted us politely, offering us a map of the area. Our room was clean and stylish, just like the rest of the guest house. Breakfast was fresh and portion sizes were great. Oxford is only a ten minute walk and... More

We stayed here for two nights with our 18 month old daughter. The room was tight for the three of us but adequate. Management provided a cot in the room which was excellent and very helpful. The breakfast was fantastic with a good selection and something that all three of us could enjoy. The location was great. Central but not... More

I stayed overnight arriving late and though the check in hours officially close at 8 the owner kindly left things unlocked and met me at about 9 pm. The room was very elegant and spotlessly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and service friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

My thing is breakfast and it was lovely to have fresh fruit available (including plums and blueberries), not the bland tinned 'fruit salad' you get at some B&Bs - and options like porridge as well as a nice full English. The décor is very attractive and tasteful and there are fresh (I think!) flowers in the breakfast room, which is... More

We had a fairly low-quality stay - not necessarily reflective of how this place may be for others, but the lack of customer care, lack of value to put things right and untrue advertising of the accommodation meant we felt overall that we had overpaid for a low quality product. There is no real parking at this hotel - just... More

We stayed three nights here on our first visit to Oxford and it lived up to the reviews we had read before booking. The room was good-sized, clean and comfortable and the breakfast was a good standard. It is a reasonably short walk to the city centre and in any event there are regular buses going past.

The Guest House was lovely, and the the service was excellent. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the location is about 20 minutes walk from Oxford centre. I particularly liked the relaxed atmosphere, and the food at breakfast was excellent. I would certainly go again.
