We stayed on the Sunday Stopover Deal which is great value. As others have said if you can stay in a cell room as they are really what this hotel is all about. The only issue I had with the room and it is quite a big one is that the bed was so hard. It was impossible to get... More

This was my second stay at Malmaison Oxford and it wasn't planned. A friend of mine was visiting from the south coast and we'd decided to have lunch at the brasserie. It was a great meal; super friendly service, great food and even better cocktails. They didn't have our favourite cocktail on the menu but it didn't matter-they made them... More

A very interesting hotel to stay at ! We stayed in a superior cell which was lovely although very dark. Fantastic bathroom with rainfall shower and huge bath tub, let down by the toiletries which consisted of shower gel ! With a bath like that bubble bath would have bee fantastic. We ate in the brasserie and hadn't made a... More

Very good location and a quirky building let down by surly staff for whom everything seemed too much trouble. Room was cold, heating didn't work, sink was faulty and the shower hose leaked badly. Make sure you don't get a room downstairs as people from the bar and brasserie, which is open to the public came into our corridor multiple... More

Lovely stay..... I stayed in a twin with my daughter for one night. We had some wonderful cocktails made by the very friendly and polite bar person. All the staff we encountered where extremely helpful and professional. I used the car park (worth every penny despite the price) and the doorman who looked after it was very polite. The only... More

My husband and I were visiting Oxford for a couple of days and decided to stay at Malmaison as we have had very enjoyable stays at both the Leeds and Liverpool hotels on a number of occasions. We booked a room in the main building but it wasn't a cell room, it was bright and clean and had a very... More

We had booked for a single night only via Lastminute.com. Location was chosen on basis of proximity to the Town Hall where we had event tickets, and on the good reviews on T/A. We paid up front but when we got to the hotel, it was initially suggested that the room had not been paid for. I was able to... More

Dear Nic S, Thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback following your stay. I am very sorry that we did not meet with your expectations during your visit. The practise of taking a pre-authorisation form a credit card, or deposit from a debit card is common practise for hotels around the world, though the amount held may... More

I nearly didn't book this after reading all the negative reviews but have always wanted to stay here so I booked two nights. It's quirky and a great location by all the shops, cafés and restaurants. We like the room although it's a bit dark so had to do my make up in the bathroom. Nice grounds and good calm... More

We went for one night, and didn't book a cell block room. Despite this, the room we got, which was in the exercise yard no 501, was very well furnished and spacious. There were signs of general wear and tear such as chipped furniture and a bath sealant which needed replacing, but other than this the room was clean. For... More

Dear Laura T, Thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback following your stay at the hotel. Thank you for your comments with regard to the bedrooms, we do have a preventative maintenance plan in place to avoid some of these issues however clearly we need to move room 501 up the list - which will be done....
