The Malmaison Oxford is spectacular to look at, housed in the old prison building next to Oxford Castle, but is tricky to get into by car unless you know Oxford's city centre well. That isn't quite true. They promised to call us when our room was ready - we arrived at 11am on Saturday and check-in is not until 3 - and they did, at 12.30 which was nice.
