The Inn was recommended to us as a dinner option by our hosts at Home Farm House in Holton. The food was great, especially the Bat Burger, which I just about managed to finish. My husband had an excellent chicken and mushroom pie and was very happy with the local ales on offer too!

I had not been back to this lovely gem of a pub for 15 years but it was still serving great food. Very welcoming staff. The service was not rushed and it was so refreshing to sit and eat and chat without waiting staff making you feel hurried and a nuisance. The lamb, battered fish and sea bass were all... More

What experiences do you want from a highly rated pub? Bar staff who are not familiar with the beers that are on tap? A resident dog that barks nay yelps every time some one moves past it? Specials off the specials board that are not available? Music playing throughout the dining area for the staff’s ear rather than the customer?... More

My friend and I stayed in this hotel for one night on a beautiful summers evening in May. It's a quiet, lovely little village but it's really close to Oxford. The pub is gorgeous, low beams and a fireplace - there's just a really nice atmosphere. I've read some of the previous reviews, people complaining about the size of the... More

The location is quite good, in a pretty enough Oxfordshire village, with Red Kites soaring overhead. The pub is Ok, nothing that special (other than the cricketing theme) and the meal we had was a very average beef and ale pie - rather bland, but just about acceptable I guess for a tenner. Staff were fine. The big disappointment for... More

The house is a beautiful location. Poeple are very kind. Breakfast was delicious. Only downside is that the room (Hobbs) was just too small for two poeple. You can't keep your luggage open because there's no space.

We stayed for Two nights this week, we were going to a local restaurant for a family celebration, and it was the perfect setting. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the food was very nice, huge portions!, and the breakfast, very good. I must just add that Sophie could not do enough for us, she was so nice and helpful... I've stayed here four times now and will do again if travelling south and need a stop over. The bar area is old and very nice. The service is very good as it the choice of beers. There's a good selection on the menu and I've never been disappointed, in fact a lamb shoulder dish was one of the best... More
