Stayed the weekend, had a nice meal but what really spoilt it was music thumping out at gone midnight for a birthday party, bearing in mind the best rooms are above the pub itself, a note in our rooms saying no drinks served in the bar after 11pm surprised me that this party was still going strong with youngsters at... Lovely all round experience. Fairly easy to find, ample parking, well equipped good sized room. Very nice food in the pub, had fish and chips for dinner which was delicious and breakfast was nice too.

We went to visit our daughter in Cuddesdon who is training at Ripon Theological College. We stayed at the only place in this small village the Bat and Ball Inn. The owner and the girls were really polite and friendly, the inn was very clean and well kept. All the rooms were named after cricketers and our first room floor... More

Very impressed with the Bat & Ball Inn, my room was nice size with high ceilings and nice size bathroom. You have to remember this is not a 5* Hilton so expect a small TV & a slow kettle ....! But other than that it's lovely nice decor room. Two comments I picked up on below one being the traffic... More

fantastic staff and a lovely friendly atmosphere. Great food too. My room was quaint albeit basic but had everything I needed. Access to car park a bit hairy of you are in a large car but I made it. I will make a point of making this one of my regular stop overs when working in the area.

The first challenge if you drive or have hired anything bigger than a compact is getting into the car park, the drive way arch is very narrow so beware. This is a pub and probably a fairly good one at that and for the cricketer (the clue is in the pubs name) there is much to see ,old bats. balls ,programmes... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Tripadvisor and all the points you made. Unfortunately as an old eighteen centuary coaching inn with many original features, we are limited with space and on booking we advise our guests of this. As in staying in any hotel, pub with rooms you will always encounter some noise and... More

We booked a room here for 2 nights as the bat and Ball is only about 10 mins. from Waterperry gardens. We had a twin room on the first night which was in a separate block downstairs, it was small but quite adequate and the bed comfortable, fresh and clean. Could have done with a blind or net curtains as... More

Thank you for your taking the time to write your review on Tripadvisor and am sorry that your second night with us was spoilt by the size of the room. As I have pointed out many times, we are an eighteen centuary pub and are limited for space therefore on making bookings guests are advised of this. As soon as... More

Far from friendly welcome - tired small rooms and pretty noisy with fire doors slamming until the early hours. Entrance to Boycott room up rusty staircase to a very tired looking door (looked like a cheap American motel). Nice evening meal in restaurant and reasonable breakfast. Stayed for two nights and would not return.

A charming, English Inn on the countryside with very friendly staff, good food, comfortable beds and a nice 'beer-garden'. Very convenient for meals at Le Manoir, which is 5 min down the road. All in all, a very pleasant stay in beautiful surroundings.
