This is easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I would not recommend anyone book here. We did expect a cheap and cheerful crashpad for a couple of nights. We chose the Victoria only because its close to the centre of Oxford, which isn't blessed with mid-price hotels. Unlike some other reviewers, we didn't find it too... More

What you are paying for here is the location - right in the centre of Oxford. Oxford has very few hotels, and those that there are tend towards the five star: but even those at lower rating are generally over the £120 mark for a double room, and don't necessarily come with an en suite bathroom at that low price.... Absolutely appalling reception staff. Rudeness beyond belief. Very unhelpful about booking the nights I wanted to stay and when I called in advance to make arrangements I spoke to three staff members who all promised to call me back. Surprise surprise. No call. The final man I spoke to was arrogant and had no awareness of customer rights.

This accommodation met all our needs for a two night stop over in the heart of Oxford . Within walking distance to the main shopping strip ,train station and bus terminal to London etc .....across the road from the theatre . We had a small clean room overlooking the back of the hotel . The room suited all our needs... More

Spent one night here. The location is great and the price is reasonable in comparison to the other hotels in the area. The accommodation is very basic. Small rooms with tired decor. Few cigarette burns in soft furnishings. The bed was ample size which I didn't find very comfortable but my partner did. The noise throughout the night was pretty... More

Minus: no breakfast, choice between street noise and nightclub noise late into the night. Plus: clean rooms, no-nonsense staff, toiletries, coffee in room, clean bathrooms, very centrally located in Oxford. Great for a stopover stay, although the hotel NEEDS to clarify on its website that it is only bed and NOT breakfast. It is on an extremely busy road in... More

Saw this hotel online, looked quite central & ideal for a one night stay Sun to Mon May bank hol. We turned up on speck & were able to have a room straight away for £80.00!! Bargain ..... Or so we thought. The property is nothing like the pics viewed online prior! What a shock. It's a doorway in the... More

When we arrived at the hotel we walked up to the reception on the first floor, to be greeted by nobody. The (presumably) manager was standing in his office taking a personal call, leaving us waiting for 10 minutes before another member of staff ambled over and checked us in. That would be my only complaint, the rooms were comfortable,... More

Just not really up to scratch...the hotels proximity to Oxford (about miles walk) will probably always ensure guests so I wonder whether this means that things aren't as good as they really should be. Rooms neat and tidy, although I did hear two other guests complain about a broken TV and a shower. Both our TV and shower were fine!... More
