After reading the reviews we called the hotel to ask them about a top level room and they sorted this out for us. For £10 you can add parking for the duration of your stay which was a bargin as parking is at a premium in Oxford. Room was basic, continental breakfast was lovely and on time. The staff were...

Pros- wifi worked well. - friendly / honest staff - central location
Cons- I would excuse all of the little problems ( no hot water in shower 'til 3rd/ last night, gum on floor, mold in bathroom etc) but the noise from the nightclub directly below was unbearable. The techno music went on until about 3am like a dance party...

I was there for one night only, and that was one night too much.
When I arrived, because I was limping, the receptionist kindly offered to have someone carry the luggage up the stairs. I accepted, but after an hour, went down and got it myself.
The wi-fi would not work, and only after a 3 hour struggle, they finally...

Very central location and this is what you're paying for. The staff were very friendly and helpful: after reading the awful reviews we asked to see the room first and there was no issue with this. They were also happy to look after our luggage after check out. 10 minutes walk from the train station.
We stayed in room 24,...

This is a very mediocre hotel and should only be considered if there really is no alternative. It is very central, and Oxford is very expensive, but there are far better B&Bs just up the Woodstock and Banbury roads that offer a far more welcoming experience. Unfortunately, when I stayed here, in late July 2011, these options were already full...

Very dismal dump. Friendly greeting and helpful directions could not make up for the shabby state of the room and bathroom. At the price, 75 pounds, I expected simple and functional. This was not nice enough to be called a "student" or hostel room. No deadbolt or chain on door, which left me feeling very vulnerable. Blinds would not close,...

Hotel was above a night club, our room was at the front above the door so it was very noisy till late into the night. The hotel doorway was used as a smoking spot, so the lower parts of the hotel smelled stongly of smoke. The room was tiny, the bathroom needed a lot of TLC.
The secure parking that...

This hotel has none of the old world character that you expect from Oxford. You might as well be staying in a one-star hotel in London: tiny rooms, high prices, no interesting views out the window, and the smell of carpet cleaner when you enter. I stayed here on business and wanted a desk for working on. The desk was...

Having read all the previous reviews I thought crumbs what have I let myself in for. However, I found it perfectly clean, the staff pleasant and welcoming and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. To those who want lots of channels on their tv - why not get a life and go out and explore a lovely city rather than sit around...
