Well when we first arrived and I handed over my reservation email the lady on reception proceeded to ask me what I'd booked, what sort of room, how many people and for how long! Surely a hotel should know who they have booked in? Clueless! Then when I told her how much I had to pay she tried to charge... More

Fair quality for the price. I stayed in a single room which was tiny but doable. The weather was uncharacteristically hot which made it difficult to sleep at night. Would have been nice to have a small fan for a night such as that. There was no hot water for shower in the evening but I did have hot water... More

We struggled to get in to a reasonably priced hotel in the centre of Oxford. The Victoria did everything we needed it to. There was parking, the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean. Breakfast was ok on Saturday but Sunday seemed to have run out of fruit and juice. The best part was that there... More

The location was great and they have free parking as well. Apart from that, there is nothing nice about it. Breakfast was bad and the service from the person serving at the breakfast table was rude. We had to ask him again and again for our toast. The choice of food for breakfast was bad as well. The hotel is... More

The only good thing about this hotel was the free parking on site. The place is rather run down, peeling wallpaper and the shower room could have done with a really good clean. The thin partition wall between our room and the one next door meant that every time our neighbour flushed the loo during the night I was woken... More

We picked this hotel for its student-friendly prices during our weekend trip to Oxford. The staff was attentive when we checked in, giving us a map and a lot of information about taxis and buses. We found it was close to attractions (about 15 minutes) and on most bus routes. The breakfast was generous and tasty, though when we checked... More

We stayed one night in the triple bed family room. At £118 for the night including breakfast I thought this a bit pricey considering the rundown state of both the inside and outside of the place. Most impressive part was the off road parking, essential in Oxford. Sheets and bathroom seemed clean but the room itself smelt like a charity... More

I notice several other reviews refer to the 'shabby' nature of the hotel. While it is not the most modern or well-decorated hotel, and the service is somewhat perfunctory, if you know what to expect it is absolutely fine. It was pretty good value for a family room, which was clean and comfortable, the location is very convenient for central... More

very dated decor. bedroom was very shabby. breakfast was plentiful, but lacked quality. got a lot of noise in the bedroom, from the landing, stairs and the plumbing (from ensuite next door). the only saving graces for this hotel was the large car park, and the lovely 15 minute walk along the river into the town centre. wouldn't stay there... I use a number of hotels and found this particular hotel to be very poor for a number of reasons: - my room was dirty - the staff were distinctly odd in the way they behaved and made me feel uncomfortable - the breakfast was sub standard - the decor was a through back to the 70's and probably hadn't...
