I stayed here after a recommendation from a colleague. The hotel is a nice, old hotel in a nice area, 5-10 minutes walk to the center of Oxford. The rooms are fine, and the bed was very good (that's what brings the rating above average).

This hotel is ideally situated, within walking distance of Oxford centre and very near some excellent restaurants in the Jericho area. The hotel is clean , comfortable and charming, if a little dated. The breakfast was very disappointing. There was a good choice of continental breakfast items but the cooked breakfast was very ordinary for the price we paid. What made... More

Stayed here one night with a friend as I was taking my child to Oxford for a summer program. It is a charming hotel and the staff were very kind. It was a nice 15-20 min walk to Oxford. The room was nice. We had the breakfast in the morning and the croissants and coffee were very good! Good value... More

This hotel is a little dated. Would be nice if they provided bathroom minis to make it easier for guests. Also a smile would go a long way!!! One positive the water pressure in the shower was very good.

Friendly staff, clean bedrooms and pleasant looking bar. Also a convenient location and plenty of good car parking. However there is no lift and some of the internal parts look a bit like student accommodation. Our bedroom was fine but the bathroom was very small and needed an overhaul. Poor shower. The breakfast was expensive and not very good. Comfortable... More

By far the worst stay I've experienced. The bed worn and sagged in the middle, walls very thin, a horrible breakfast buffet (cheap juices, stale fruit salad, half-hearted pastry selection) - a proper breakfast will cost you extra - i.e. more than the 90 Pounds you pay for single occupancy of a double room. Without the location, this hotel would... More

Excellent location, short bus ride into town. Parking right outside the front door. Expensive at £220 B & B per night. No lift, though they did offer help with luggage. Room on first floor OK, except for the extraordinarily heavy sash windows which would not stay open, and the too-short curtains which let in the light first thing. We had... More

The hotel was well placed and easy to find, the staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was lovely, spacious and well presented. We also had an evening meal at the hotel with our friends who were also staying there, and the food was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a very pleasant evening. Breakfast the following... More

The hotel was just out of the city centre but not too far. Easy walking distance to city centre. Hotel staff were very friendly, the room was spacious and well appointed. Bed was comfortable. We ate both an evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant and found the meals enjoyable. Ample parking on site. Overall it did the trick!

As alumni with a young child, we wanted to stay somewhere central, but not too central. The hotel was also conveniently not too far from both of our Colleges, which appealed. Check-in and parking were quick and convenient. The hotel is a short walking distance from the centre of Oxford, if you need to go there, or from the Jericho... More
