Stayed for four nights whilst working at the Blenheim Palace CLA Game Fare. Having stayed here three years ago, the service was even better on this occasion. Working at the Game Fair means an early start and the staff always had an excellent choice of food, hot & cold, available from 06.00am. Unfortunately we had a leak in our room,... More

We stayed at the Holt Hotel for 4 nights. The bedroom we had was clean and tidy and the bar and restaurant was welcoming as were the staff. The hotel is a bit out of the way so was nice and quiet. If I was to have any criticism it would be the lack of evening entertainment and the charge... More

We arrived late saturday and the first thing we were told was the bar was closed, which was a shame as it is far from other places, but no problem what so ever. The service was good and quick and we were told exactly where our room was; basically we got the furthest room from the reception and access involved... More

We decided to stop at this hotel for a couple of days, on the spur of the moment. We wanted somewhere out of Oxford and also near Bicester. We arrived quite late on in the day, and we're not happy with the room we were shown. Nothing could be too much trouble for them. We were given a new room,... More

After an absolute horrific first hotel we did a quick bit of googling and found The Holt. We rang them at 9pm asking for a room so we could escape the other hotel and the staff member (Aaron) told us everything we needed to know (prices, directions etc.), so we got a refund from the house of horrors and headed... Stayed for one night in a twin-bedded room. Positives: overall good value for what you get; easy to find; big, free car park; large room; pleasant and well-organised staff especially at breakfast. Negatives: tired and dated decor, beds a bit hard. The hotel clearly needs some investment to upgrade the interior, but an OK stop-over.

Although the interior is a little tired, it was clean and comfortable. The staff at reception and dining room were extremely helpful. The chef prepared delicious meals at a reasonable price and the bar meals had very generous portions. All in all we spent a very comfortable time here and wouldn't hesitate to go again.

What a strange experience this hotel was. It's part modern, part ancient coaching inn with a history of hauntings and highwaymen. The room was extremely old fashioned but in a sort of 70's faded way. It was clean, however. The staff appear very newly employed and several of them were rather odd - asking unusual questions etc - although they... More

Booked in for a two night stay in a deluxe double room costing £198 b&b, had to pay in full before seeing the room(now we know why!) Grotty is a generous description. The most uncomfortable bed we have ever had to sleep in with blankets you wouldn't want your dog to sleep on. Breakfast was basic and thats being kind!!!... More

This is a good-looking, traditional English hotel. A handy place to stay for weddings at Tythe barn. The help-yourself breakfast is good, especially the sausages. Unfortunately the rooms aren't the best; pokey, dim-lit, hot, old-fashioned & noisy. The Ensuite was fine, with bath & shower. With a bit of modernising, this hotel could easily be a luxurious getaway to the... More
