We were given room 119 and there was a horrible noise going on and off regularly through the night. The hostel being behind the train station we thought there was nothing to do about it. However on the second night we realized we had two enormous fans outside on both sides of the room. Duncan at reception offered to move... More

I stayed in June 2015 and was able to park on the road outside which was very convenient. This is a large Youth Hostel and the room was full with 6 guests. It was an experience trying to climb out of the top bunk at 6 in the morning to leave for work without falling out or waking everybody. There... More

Stayed here on a weekend for a work conference. The city is lovely and so is this hostel. I shared a 6 beds bedroom with co workers. The room had bunk beds, quiet clean and tidy and so was the toilet and bathroom which we had to share. The food is ok. Felt like high school canteen food, but they... More

Stayed here 2 nights with a party of 17 guys for a stag do. The staff are really helpful and for the price we paid it's probably the best quality hostel any of us had stayed in. Breakfast was pretty good for £5. Good selection of beer at the bar and a pool table. Easy 5-10 minute walk to get... More

Took 11 14 yr old on a trip to Oxford. YHA was brilliant especially the welcome and help from the lovely Duncan. Rooms basic but comfortable and clean. Food excellent. Would stay again with or without teenagers. Well done Duncan and YHA Oxford!

I spent one night in First Floor, Single room, Number 118 (only £25 including YHA membership discount). The room was spacious for a single room and faces onto the quiet side street. My room was immaculately clean and tidy and the bedding freshly laundered. I had a wall mounted TV that worked very well and a basin with constantly running... More

Barely a bad word to say about this hotel. I am reasonably experienced with staying in hostels in Europe, not the UK. I stayed in a room with 4 other friends, on a room that could hold 6. There were three single bunk beds, a bathroom and a shower room to share between us. A locked room with clean bedding... More

This hostel is amazing and the price is very good. It has you could ask for in the common areas of a hostel: an equipped kitchen, bar, lounge, common room, library and a restaurant. They offer breakfast for 5 pounds but I thought it was expensive and didn't try it. My room was large with individual lockers and hangers and... More

Looks great when you walk in, lounge and dining area are great, food is decently priced and the fry up in the morning is okay although I've had better. Wifi only works in the lobby not the rooms. Rooms are old, worn down and tacky. Wooden bunk beds felt like they were going to break, shower looked disgusting, windows were... More
