We got a private ensuite room at this hostel hoping it would provide a slightly more romantic (while still cheap) place to stay the night. Nope; it was filled with screaming kids at all hours of the day and night, and our room had two separate Ernie and Bert style beds with weird smelling comforters. This is likely a good... More

I spent quite a few nights here and had a very good experience overall; the staff are friendly, the hostel is for the most part clean and well kept, and the beds are comfy, however the kitchen is far too small for the amount of guests the hostel accommodates, and it is rather uncomfortable attempting to cook dinner alongside large... Our room consisted of three sets of bunk beds with plenty of storage space, a couple of chairs, a toilet room and a separate shower room. The beds were fairly comfortable enough but there was only one pillow per bed so I would recommend either asking for more or taking your own. The room looked clean enough but we found... More

Although this is central and next door to the station, due to this it is noisy and heavily used. What is worse is that it is open 24 hours a day and if someone arrives at 2am, they are allowed into your room and usually wake everyone up. Quite why they do put late arrivers in a room on their... Good for a group of friends. 15 minjute walk to city centre. Breakfast good. Room much quieter than expected. Showers ok but not amazing. About 50% of the price of a B&B, but yes for that some of you have to be in the top bunk. Parking is a mile away at Seacourt (£2 per day). Maybe there is closer... More

while there is nothing wrong with this hostel in terms of comfort, facilities and location I think it's important I let the solo travellers out there know that this is no 'youth' hostel. Everyone in this hostel is essentially families with kids which I wish someone had written on here while I was researching where to stay. As a solo... More

We arrived by train and travelled around by bus - YHA Oxford is right next to both stations! :) the downside is that we were in room 120 for four hot nights, adjacent to platform 2 of the railway station, with the window open, so our peaceful night was fairly short. Oh, and there is an outdoor seated area below... More

This was everything we have come to expect from a YHA hostel: secure, clean and well run. The staff are friendly and efficient and it is well placed, within walking distance of the city centre. There is some free parking across the busy road, in a car park that doesn't seem to belong to anyone, but its position alongside the... More

We were given room 119 and there was a horrible noise going on and off regularly through the night. The hostel being behind the train station we thought there was nothing to do about it. However on the second night we realized we had two enormous fans outside on both sides of the room. Duncan at reception offered to move... More

I stayed in June 2015 and was able to park on the road outside which was very convenient. This is a large Youth Hostel and the room was full with 6 guests. It was an experience trying to climb out of the top bunk at 6 in the morning to leave for work without falling out or waking everybody. There... More
