Stayed here for an overnight in Oxford. Hotel has no lift but reception carried bags to our room. Room was a adequate, comfy, slightly noisy in the early hours. Good sized room, l'occitane shower goodies, great wifi! Was skeptical about booking here because of some TripAdvisor reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Not 5 star due to some things like no... We mistakenly thought this was a hotel but it is really a small guest house, and has no facilities other than rooms. Having said that, our room was small but perfectly adequate, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean and had a good shower. However, sleep was all but impossible for any length of time due to the incredible... More

Located right in the centre of Oxford the Bocardo was really convenient for a couple of days. The rooms are clean and the hotel functional. If driving the hotel doesn't have parking so you'll either need to park in the local city centre car parks (pricey - approx £25 for 24 hrs) or park in one of the park and... More

Not sure how this hotel constitutes a boutique hotel or its 5 Star rating. We arrived on a Friday evening, were shown to our room with the mention that the door had been left open to air it as the window was broken, then dropped our cases and headed out for dinner. By the time we arrived back in the... More

Bocardo's location is perfect. Hotel is very close to famous restaurants, Cornmarket and High Street, bus stations, train station. Bed and bathroom are very clean. Wi-fi is available in the room. The only negative thing is we have to carry our lugagges upstairs by ourselves.(no lift)

There was no breakfast, the room was small there was no lift, the towels were dirty. basically it shouldn't be a five star hotel. When people book a five star people want luxury. This was not luxury. I think it wasn't good for its value. If you want a nice cheap room with better facilities plus the good location, book... More

We wanted an unfussy hotel slap in the middle of Oxford and that is what we got. Simple check in, comfortable room and all that you need. The five most important things in a hotel are clean, comfortable bed, good shower, good air quality or air con and number 5 varies depending on what you are looking for; spa, quiet,... More

The hotel asked me to pay for the first night a week in advance of my stay as a deposit. I agreed to pay this but the remainder was due when we checked out. The rooms were small but nice, the bathroom clean, the location central and close to restaurants considering they do not offer food. The night before I... More

staff is friendly. there are a lot of creaky stairs going up and there's no lobby or communal area. the rooms themselves are fine, clean and have all the amenities. AC works fine and everything like that. the location is excellent, in the middle of everything in oxford. After staying in London at a slightly more expensive hotel that was... More

Fantastic location for exploring the wonderful city of Oxford. Clean small rooms with helpful pleasant staff. Just remember to pack your ear plugs as lots of activity in the street below from the nightclub which continued until 5am. Window didn't open and double glazing was down too! Shame as apart from this is was a good weekend. Rated 5star from... More
