First of all, since it was a birthday present from my darling wife, i'm eternally grateful for having stayed in this hotel. xxx The good: First of all, a fantastic location - right smack in the center. Also: a very friendly and helpful receptionist, who seemed to man his desk 24/7. Photos of Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn in the... More

The rooms are very clean but small and not suitable for families with kids. They are located in the 2nd floor with no elevator and the nearest parking costs 30£ per day!! The location is excellent though, in the center of Oxford.

We chose this hotel in Oxford due to its location. Close to where the wedding was being held (St Peter's College), walkable with bags from rail station and good for sightseeing. It fulfilled that promise nicely. And because we arrived right around 2pm, having a Jamie's Italian on the main floor was a nice and welcome surprise. There are no... More

The location is extremely central. My window was facing St. George St, but I am not sure why people seem to be so bothered by the noise. The aircondition was very effective, so there should really be no use for having the window open. The room was small, but cosy, looking like a rather small hotel room, but bathroom was... More

Location is good, but that is about all. Room was small and not that clean. A/C was noisy and there was about two different settings in spite of the contol panel: on/off... Wifi was working pretty well. For the quality, price is just too high.

Sells itself as an upmarket room-only boutique hotel but feels more like a quirky B&B without the breakfast. Staff were friendly (though I was made to wait whilst they completed their paperwork) at both check-in and check-out. Seems there aren't staff on the desk all night (though there appears to be a Duty Manager on call via mobile) and that... More

The location was exxcellent, rightfully in the middle of Oxford city centre. While others address the issue of noise, i did not experience that despite having the room right opposite to the pub thankfully. The room was decent, nothing much to shout about. I feel for the price i paid i could have got a bit more. But if you... More

We stayed two nights at this so called "hotel". The room was small but very noisy as it was opposite a night club. Drunks shouting at the top of their voices from 2:00 am until about 4:00 am with no let up was not our idea of fun. The night club staff did nothing to move people on and there... More

We booked at The Bocardo for an overnight stay in Oxford. It's location is superb and enables you to walk straight out into the centre of Oxford. The staff were very efficient and welcoming and our room was fabulous. Although not the biggest, it was immaculate, with a comfy bed and spotless bathroom. The under floor heating, air conditioning and... More

We wanted a hotel right in the middle of Oxford so that we could easily explore, shop and eat nearby and we were not disappointed. The room was modern and fresh and clean. It was on a main street so please be prepared for some street noise at night (I always travel with earplugs!). We were right next to an... More
