Before we got there I was a little put off by what others had said but I shouldn't have worried because this hotel is amazing. The buildings look characterful and medieval in style, and when you walk in you get medieval with a modern twist. The reception/lounge area is beautiful- decorated really tastefully and the decor is fitting with the... more

It's really difficult to find a good hotel, especially when you sift through all the reviews as there's always one that puts you off isn't there? We both thought the hotel was excellent. Booking over the telephone was great, all the staff were very good throughout the hotel. We had intended to go into the centre of Oxford for dinner,... more

Stayed at this hotel on a 2 night leisure break early October. The location is not the best but other reviews have recommended parking in the sister hotel and travelling into Oxford by bus. We were looking to relax for a couple of days and that is exactly what we did. The Leisure club is perfect for a short stay... more

We would go back to the hotel we couldn't fault it. We parked at the sister hotel and walked into Oxford - no problem and we got the tour bus ticket from reception. more

The grounds of the hotel are lovely with the Thames running through them. We arrived very early and left our luggage with the helpful receptionist. She also gave us advice about parking at the sister hotel which was very useful and saved us the expensive parking charges in Oxford. The room was a deluxe and we found it comfortable and... more

We spent 4 days Mon-thurs at this hotel. We got an unbelievable deal on a connoisseur room with balcony. Lovely room with complimentary drinks tray refreshed every day. Comfy beds and QUIET! Lovely pool and gym, relaxing bar and lounge area, lovely outdoor spaces and grounds to sit in or walk around. Great location on the banks of the Thames... more

Just come back from weekend break at the Oxford Thames Four Pillars. Was a little apprehensive following some of the unfavourable reviews on this site. I think they must have stayed at a different hotel. Lovely room, bathrobes and free drinks tray, smart bathroom, comfy bed with lovely view of the gardens. Breakfast and dinner excellent and the staff friendly... more

This was a late booking under their Sunday night free room offer. There were no standard rooms left so we upgraded to a balcony connoisseur (£40). The room was light, airy and well finished. Big tray of drinks included in the upgrade + robes and a great view of the walled garden and River Thames. Public spaces were clean, spacious... more

Managed to get a good price for a last minute 2 day stay. Its probably only a 4 star due to the gym and pool which are good, the rest of the hotel is a bit plasticy. Food was good if a bit limited menu. Very helpful that you can park at the sister hotel and then walk in to... more
