The Wheatley Travelodge is superbly located for visiting Oxford, just a couple of miles from the excellent park & ride. Within walking distance there is a Harvestor Inn for dinner (which was great), and an Asda for anything else. The hotel itself was clean, with good size well maintained room, and I wuld have no hesitation to returning here next... More

I am a great fan of Travelodges and generally find them terrific value for money, however I thought this one was slightly overpriced at £50 per night. There was no cafe, and the ASDA across the road didn't have one either, or sell chilled drinks, to my husband's annoyance! The room was fine apart from them initially only giving us... More

Most of the staff seemed reasonably friendly. There is an Asda and a bus stop across the road. That is all the positive comment I can make. There is no lift in the hotel- I received very little help a little too late, lugging my 20kg suitcase up the flimsy stairs. The room itself was basic (fair enough, it -is-... More

Hotel was sweltering hot with little ventilation in the room, and what could be achieved by opening the window was negated by the smoke and fumes coming from the kitchen of the Harvester next door. Aside from this the room was reasonably clean, wifi (paid) worked well and the bed was comfortable although a little soft for my liking Stayed... More

We arrived at 9pm to find the reception desk unmanned, but someone did arrive after 5 minutes. Check in was perfectly adequate, but the receptionist was not particularly friendly. The room was larger than other travel lodges I have stayed in with good hanging space for clothing. There was aTV and tea and coffee making facilities. My main gripe was... More

The furnishings were a reasonable standard. The cleanliness left a great deal to be desired. The bedding however, was clean. The bathroom not! The windows not! the dressing table area not! The carpet not!

Poor signage from road, easily missed. No toiletries supplied, not even some soap to wash your hands. Only one towel per person, no bath mat to stand on when you get out of the shower. Expensive for what it is - over £90 for 1 night.

Thank you for your review GMWLondon. We do want our hotel to be easily accessible and adequately sign posted so it is regrettable to learn you found there was poor signage. We do currently offer a small bottle of soap/shower gel/shampoo in every room and we are in the process of ensuring all of our rooms have dispensers in the... More

We have stayed at this Travelodge a number of times without problem. Never again. The excellent manager and all the usual staff have left and it appears there are now only temporary staff. Our room was not available and staff were very unhelpful. We left our case and returned at 22.30. There was a queue of people trying to check... More

Arrived after 8 hour journey with two young children - no one in reception to check us in! No staff in travel lodge at all - phoned number left at reception only to be put through to their call centre in Barcelona who promised someone was on way to help us. 3 hours later still no sign of anyone -... This place promised us wifi , so we booked an extra night so we could work from here prior to a wedding rather than getting up early and driving from London. On arrival the receptionist confirmed that all we had to do was search for the wifi network and then pay for the connection. The connection rarely showed. After a... More
