Homelea Guest house Stayed here in May 08, sorry has taken me a while to get pen to paper, wonderful warm welcome from Matthew, fresh plunger coffee and a chat about Oxford on our arrival. As noted on previous posts Matthew gave us info on the tow path walk which we found without any problems and thoroughly enjoyed the walk... more

Stayed at Homelea to visit our daughter at Christ Church last weekend. What impressed me right from the start is Matthew's friendliness and attention to detail. This is carried through to the speed in which he responds to your enquiry, to all the little extras you find in your room like soap, shampoo, body lotion and even cotton wool puffs!... more

I really enjoyed my stay. The manager, Matthew, was very helpful and pleasant, (even when my credit card didn't work). The waitress was very nice, her English was charming and understandable - and super breakfast, plenty of it and well prepared. I was also very impressed when I, after my first night, asked for another duvet to put on top... more

We arrived in Oxford via bus and as soon as we arrived, we called Matthew, who said he would meet us straightaway at the Guest House. He was indeed there to meet us, and was warm, friendly, and polite, immediately offering us water, tea, or coffee, and giving us a detailed introduction to a map of Oxford. He recommended the... more

Extremely disappointed with Homelea guest house. Clean, but very dingy, small room, with a tiny old tv that has only one channel, a shower that does not drain and no towel hangers at all. Breakfast was pathetic, coffee undrinkable, and fruit selection was limited to peaches from a can. Quite far from the center of town. The owner never bothered... more

We have just had a weekend break in Oxford (6th to 8th June) staying at the Homelea Guest House. Here’s our view on the accommodation and a small report on our weekend which you may find helpful if you visit Oxford; I decided on Homelea after searching the internet, reading the reviews on this website and from their own website.... more

My husband and I stayed for two nights in Room 4 of the Homlea Guest House. The room was small and cramped, and the floor was extremely squeaky. The bathroom was absolutely tiny--so small that the sink had to be in the bedroom. There was not an adequate place for hanging towels. The room was nicely decorated, however, and there... more

This was out 3rd stay at Homelea and were a bit disappointed. The guest house has abviously changed hands again and is either being run completely differently or not by experienced people. We were met with an envelope stuck on the back door with our name on, advising which room we were in and a set of keys. The first... more

We've just had a long weekend in Oxford, staying at the Homelea Guesthouse and can heartily recommend it to anyone. The location is great, a bare 15min walk into the centre of Oxford, or only a few min by bus, so we could leave the car parked behind the house when visiting the city! Our room was spacious and clean,... more

I lived in HomeLea Guest House for about two weeks, waiting to set up my life in Oxford. The location is perfect for who want to visit Oxford: Abingdon Road is directly connected to the town center by bus (about 5 min), and when it's not raining you can take a 15 minutes walk to arrive in High Street. The... more
