We stayed overnight on Good Friday. Great location for Oxford sightseeing but thats about it. After checking in, we found no tea or coffee facilities in the room so went to the bar to order one, to be told the coffee machine was broken and they couldn't make tea or coffee. The bar area wasn't that clean, and the stained... More

Amazing location drew us into this pub for lunch Good Friday after a fab service at Aldgates Church. Can't believe we walked back to the place to end up so disappointed. Rude and surly staff. Can understand not being able to open a tab on a busy day so let that one go. Bought a large rosé and pint of... More

Did not stay here just called in for a beer. Rude staff. Over priced, must be the most expensive pint in Oxford and it tasted bland at best. They ran out of food and sent a young waitress around to explain the situation. The poor girl appeared to me to be totally lost. Good location which I,m sure makes it... More

Just returned from a lovely stay in oxford .overall enjoyed our stay here however some aspects were excellent and some we'll below standard. Worst aspect was the attitude of the female staff who clearly did not know how to smile or want to help. The male staff were in contrast friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The beds were... We were a bit apprehensive - pub with rooms - but our room was comfortable enough. Too expensive for what it is though but I suppose it is Oxford. Our room overlooked the eating area outside and thankfully they weren't any rooms above us as the floorboards are really, really creaky!! Car park very small but luckily we arrived early... More

I was a little apprehensive booking a room above a pub, BUT it was very peaceful, no traffic noise or bar noise and the bed was extremely comfortable albeit a little high (and I'm quite tall!) Booked just the one night but can't really fault the rooms, spotlessly clean shower and a jacuzzi bath, peaceful...what more could you want? No... More

Room and booked parking space were not ready when we arrived at 5pm. Staff very apologetic and got complementary drinks for us while we waited. Fair enough. Room was comfortable but rather hot, especially overnight, but there were several things missing - tea and coffee and a hairdryer, for example - that you would expect for £180 a night. Dinner... Location is great on a sunny day, food when it eventually arrived wasn't bad. However, from the minute we walked in the attitude of the waitress was appalling. Rude and unhelpful. She rolled her eyes every time we asked for anything.. The basics like cutlery and condiments. More drinks etc.. Whilst it was busy, the food took literally hours to... More

I would say the sevice at this i b and b is the worst I have experienced. There was supposed to be tera making facilities in the room. There wasn't. I requested it on the first night of stay and they ptoduced it-only to take it away again the next day. breakfast entailed a forty minue wait for a luke... More

It's basically my second home. I spend all my afternoons there and I highly recommend this place to all those who want to get a real Oxonian experience. In summer it's the familiar destination of students and locals.
