We were greeted with strong curry smell in the premise upon entering. The location is about 30min walk from where most action is, not really convenient of you're intending to park and then walk to visit most of Oxford attractions. Food was great through, the host cooks up a great English breakfast which we enjoyed. We paid 80 quits for... More

Having never visited Oxford, we decided to stop over on our journey to the south coast. We found the guest house very easily as it is situated on a main road, only a short bus ride into the city centre. We were welcomed by a friendly receptionist, who showed us to our room. The room was pretty basic, with dated... More

We had a friendly welcome by a pleasant host. The bedroom size was ok but unfortunately on the ground floor near the main road. The shower was a wet room and not very practical with water splashing on the toilet which was right next to it. The decor in the room and throughout the building was very dated. Breakfast finished... Green Gables was an ideal stayover for us on a long drive South. The owners are very friendly, and we had an excellent full English breakfast - including Marmite! For the price this was very comfortable and convenient. Seems some of the reviewers here want a 5* hotel for a budget price!

Spent three nights in Green Gables. I was looking for a budget B&B in Oxford as I was there in a busy time and all hotels were offering rooms at highest rates. I booked the Green Gable mainly because the location and the free parking. The room was spacious with very old fashion furniture; the bathroom was small and not... More

We found the rooms a little small, stuffy and the traffic noise was present from the early morning. the ensuite was small and could have been cleaner. the breakfast room was small and cramped. there were three of us and we were squeezed into a corner with very little room. off street parking was fine. This would be Ok in... More

We arrived straight from our long journey from the US and the owner of the B&B was very willing to let us into our rooms a bit early for a quick rest -- very accommodating! Overall we were very pleased with our stay... We had two rooms, including a single in front for our adult son (who loved his own... More

For the price we paid, the room was much as we had expected. The cleaning could be improved: it appeared clean and we had everything we needed, but on looking for an electrical socket for the alarm clock behind the bedside table, we found a lot of dust on the skirting board (there was no socket in which to plug... We stayed just the one night and our host was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was large enough to cope with two large suitcases and clean and nicely presented. The house itself is old and therefore has the disadvantages of such buildings with steep stairs and older facilities but what they lack in glamour is made up in being... More
