Second visit. Picked for location. What frustrates me about trip advisor is reviews like Aqua700 I think and ccandcc who I feel don't review the place for what it is. Aqua comparing Burlington to a 5 star hotel in America who could pronounce his name is laughable then writing how cheap it was in expensive Oxford is confusing to anyone... More

My wife, my daughter, and I have stayed at the Burlington House three times this year. Our stays have varied from two to four nights, during the week and over weekends. We have rented two different double rooms (rooms 7 and 10) and one single room (room 3). Therefore, we feel that we have pretty good idea about this property.... More

We spent one night in this hotel recently, and nearly didn't bother because they asked us to pay in full nearly 3 months before the date of our stay. On arrival, laden with coats etc, we were asked to register before being shown to our room (fair enough) but also felt pressurised into accepting soft drinks we really didn't want... More

I was in Oxford visiting a sibling at the old University. In future I would probably sleep on the spare airbed. It is not completely accurate for Burlington House to describe itself (or be described) as a boutique hotel or B&B. It is not. 'Boutique' implies serious interior design credentials. Burlington House does not have these...nevertheless the website photos are... More

My wife and I (along with our four month old daughter) stayed here for two weeks as our flat was being renovated, and we couldn't have been happier here. We were treated with great care and were very impressed by the quality of rooms and the house overall. It's a very pleasant place to be, and the breakfast each morning... More

We were met on arrival mid-afternoon by Nes, our host, who couldn't have been more welcoming. We were offered fresh orange juice and a slice of delicious Diwali pistachio cake. Our room on the top floor was clean, spacious with a king-sized very comfortable bed. A good assortment of teas, coffees and quality biscuits are provided. The en-suite had a... More

I stayed in this lovely place a few years ago and was delighted to see, on my return, it was just as wonderful. Nes is a fabulous host - I was offered a glass of fresh juice the minute I arrived through the door and after that, he couldn't have made my stay nicer. Overslept in the am and missed... More

I stayed at this hotel around 4 weeks ago and found the residence to of a very good standard. The welcome I received from Nes (the host) was fantastic. The room itself was clean and well appointed. A good place to stay if Summertown is you place of choice. Great breakfast too.

We stayed one night in a double room in the main house. The staff were welcoming and very helpful with our booking, which we made at the last minute. The room was comfortable and, while there was no air conditioning, the ceiling fan was effective. We understand there are plans to install air con in the near future. The breakfast... More

We stayed here for a weekend. Good things...friendly welcome, lovely breakfast, good parking. Not so good things... Room quite hot so had to keep window open and road very noisy. The hotel is quite expensive for what it is but this should be viewed in the context of other Oxford hotels which are even more pricey.
