I booked to stay here as a surprise birthday present for my Dad who is alumni of Jesus college and hasn't been back for years. I am very disappointed that despite having paid high-end prices for rooms we were given rooms in the modern halls of residence in a totally different building to the old college which completely defeated the... The rooms and the whole house have a special atmosphere. Originally I decided to stay here because the costs for the room were really okay, especially for Oxford. Jesus College isn't the college I attended in Oxford but it reminded me a lot of it - the atmosphere is great. Don't expect a lot of luxuries, you won't find them... More

OK bias alert: this is my old college, but I hadn't stayed there for decades till last month. And I do recommend it because it's right in the middle of Oxford, two minutes away from just about everything, and it's full of atmosphere. Undergraduate atmosphere, maybe, but then, that's what you'd expect from a room that is, in real life,... More

What a great concept! Note that you are not staying in the old college rooms. However, the rooms are just around the corner on Ship Street, which is marvelously convenient to absolutely everything! Room was clean, tidy, perfectly adequate size at a great price! And a treat to have breakfast in the Jesus College dining hall and to be able... More

Wonderful way to stay in Oxford and feel like an academic. Wonderful history, character and close to everything. Walk around and take Oxford in; who knows who walked on the very cobblestone you're standing on.

Many people forget that it's possible to stay in university accommodation in Oxford at certain times the year when classes are not in session. I did this a long time ago and for a budget conscious traveller it was really great. As you might expect the room was very basic but clean and best of all, it was right in... More

We stayed in the Ship Street Centre building, nearby the main college building. It's a very old building, nicely converted into a complex of modern rooms. Our room was very clean and modern, but just a little like a cross between an office with a bed in it and a private hospital room. But not to quibble - it's reasonably... More

My husband and I were delighted by our accommodations at Jesus. We stayed in the Ship Street Centre building. Our room was clean and peaceful, with a very pretty view of Oxford rooftops. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was spacious. The porter and his staff took very good care of us. Better still, of course, was that we... More

I stayed for a week at Oxford. Travelling by foot, I wanted to be central. Staying at one of the colleges meant a central location and had the added bonus of pretending I was an Oxford student for a week! I booked accommodation at Jesus College. At my time of going (November), that was the only vacant room in any... More

Oxford is expensive but if you're in the market for an inexpensive night or two (albeit in a single room) this is a great bet. You get a lovely location, decent breakfast and a chance to nose around an historic college. You can choose either regular or en suite rooms depending on your budget. As others have said, parking is... More
