A very clean and welcoming hotel. Plenty of parking and just a 10 minute walk into the town centre. I was a bit apprehensive about this booking because of indifferent reviews on Tripadvisor. They simply did not reflect the stay I had. I will definitely book this hotel again when in Oxford.

We had a lovely stay in this hotel back in March. The receptionist was welcoming and as promised we were allowed late check-in with no problems what so ever. The hotel itself is a little bit of a maze although you can easily work out if there is an external entrance nearer to your room. It is situated in lovely... More

Decent location in central Oxford but I'm here for work so that's irrelevant. My room has thin curtains and weak double glazing so sunlight and birdsong woke me up at 4:50am. I'm sure this isn't an issue for people staying here in the Winter, nor will be the fact that the room does not have air conditioning. It must be... More

We debated whether to stay in the city centre or go for the cheaper option and we didn't regret our decision at all. The leisure facilities are pretty tired but apart from that everything else was fine. Nothing will wow you about the hotel but it was clean, well serviced, with easy parking. We loved the walk in to town... More

Booked two day break through secret escapes including dinner on one night. Ideal location for short walk into city centre either by road or alongside Thames. Upgraded room separately which was worthwhile as we had large, room in quiet location, which I believe was wise decision as a busy hotel. Unfortunately due to late return missed dinner, but duty manager... More

This place is a reasonable choice if you plan to visit Oxford city centre. It's a pleasant, easy, 15 minute stroll along the River Thames past the rowing clubs to get into town. The atmosphere and rooms are nothing to write home about though: functional, clean, but nothing exceptional. Only two pillows and they were pretty solid. Bed had a... More

We paid a lot of money to stay at this hotel which is 20 mins on foot from the centre of Oxford. There was no breakfast supplied with the exorbitant tariff and if we wanted to purchase additional breakfast, it would cost nearly £10. Coffee costs £4.25!! Our bed was ok but the matress was spring sprung and old. Our... More

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the four pillars, the hotel is impressive from the outside and is set off of the main road. It has an Idyllic setting surrounded by fields. We were allocated room 44 which was on the ground floor. Initially it was a bit of a trek from the reception, but it was well... More

The hotel ticks all the right boxes for a 4* hotel but perhaps lacks the character of surrounding Oxford but is an ideal base for a weekend break. Friendly staff. Well presented food. Great location with a 10min walk into town along the river. Recommend the connoisseur cheese board for dessert!
