I'll start with the good. The hotel looks nice from the outside and Iffley Village is very pretty. There is plenty of space for parking. The hotel is in a good location - you can enjoy a lovely 35-minute stroll into Oxford along the lock; alternatively, you are a five minute walk from a bus stop taking you into town... more

It is basically a pub with accommodation above. It is a beautiful building but parts of it are very run down. The garden is lovely, and the location is fantastic, practically right beside Iffley lock. It is a 2 mile walk into Oxford along the tow path, past the university boat houses, and the only problem we had was avoiding... more

My brother had eated in the week and the food was lvoely so we booked a table for Sunday lunch - never again. Although we booked we had to queue for food - or what food there was. We sat at 1.30pm and hardly any starters left. We then had a choice of two roasts or indian. The indian food... more

Thank you very much for taking time out to review the hotel. During sunday lunches we try our best to put up a large selection of salads and starters along with a selection of curries and roast. During summers there are times when it gets extremely busy and with people sitting in the garden and at times can be difficult...

Located near Iffley lock on the Thames, this perfect small English hotel is a lovely walk away from the town of Oxford (about 2 miles along the river). Beautiful public rooms - restaurant and pub are lovely. Our room was very large and comfortable with a king-sized bed and large, full bath. Beautiful outdoor sitting area for lunch under the... more

The Tree Hotel is actually a pub and restaurant. It's in Iffley about 2 miles south of Oxford, with lots of parking. It isn't usually worth taking your car into Oxford but buses into the centre at about £2 are frequent from the main road (about 5 minutes walk) . There is also a very pleasant walk along the river... more

Iffley is a very pretty village, and worth a walk round if you stay here. The restaurant at the Tree is OK, but not quite as great as their advertising would lead you to believe. In the bar the tables were sticky and grubby. Brekfast was Ok if you like scrambled egg/omelette - lots of different varieties. But they weren't... more

This hotel looked very pretty from the outside, and is in a lovely location. The room was a good size, however the net curtains were so dirty I was tempted to wash them in the sink myself, and the curtains had some kind of food sauce on them. The staff were pleasant, and breakfast was ok but a more flexible... more

Its an outstanding hotel......to go for...with amazing staff and fantastic cuisines....the location of the hotel adds extra stars to the performance. The rooms are clean and comfortable and very spacious. The breakfasts were quite excellent. The pub served tasty ales and ciders. Whatever we needed the staff obtained for us. We certainly feel that we can highly recommend this excellent hotel. more

The Tree Hotel looks rather "Faulty Towers" from the outside and although the decor on the inside needs a bit of updating the rest of our stay did not in any way remind us of a 70's sitcom. The staff are exceptionally nice and helpful and welcoming. The food (breakfast) was really nice with a good range of cooked breakfasts... more
