We stayed in room 7 with nice views of the garden, it was spacious, clean and well equipped. As others have said the little treats from Stefan and the all round atmosphere make for a lovely stay. Make sure you have breakfast in the conservatory. Stefan is knowledgeable and nhas some good tips on where to visit etc. The B&B... More

This B&B is run by people who really care about their guests and their comfort. On arrival we were surprised with a lovely afternoon tea - all baking homemade. The superior king room was very comfortable, spotless and airy, but what elevated this B&B was the excellent breakfast provided. High quality produce was used with homemade preserves and cereals galore.... More

Myself and my partner stayed in the lodge for 3 nights and it was very much worth the money. Loved the room and little touches such as the home made bits that were left for us daily. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Steffans breakfasts were lovely and he was very accommodating to requests. Would definitely stay again. Thank you... More

I visited last weekend with my partner and what a great surprise Tilbury Lodge was. When we arrived we were greeted by our host and taken to our spacious double room. The room was extremely clean and a lot nicer than a lot of hotels that I have stayed in. There was a small bottle of rose, crisps, fresh fruit,... More

This is a delightful B and B and i would never have found it but for work. The double room I had was simple - clean and welcoming with a really lavish bathroom (brilliant view). The room had some lovely thoughtful touches- a few sweets, home made biscuits and bubble baths etc. it felt really welcoming, spacious and relaxing. The... More

My husband and I stayed at Tilbury Lodge for two nights recently. We arrived earlier than expected and hoped to leave the car while we popped into Oxford for a look around, but we were greeted at the door and able to check in. We were shown around and given some useful local information. We were offered tea/coffee which was... More

With its welcoming host and hostess, this place is a great gem, with delicious home-made breakfasts, large, comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms, a pleasant garden and nice conservatory. Easy 10-minute bus ride from centre of Oxford on a quiet lane off the main road. Host Stefan, from South Africa, makes edible treats for the rooms, plus his own special variants... More

Spent 2 nights here and we couldn't have picked a better place. Location is great - quiet and easy to find. Traffic in Oxford is pretty bad at the moment and car parking is difficult so took Stefan's advice and got the bus instead. We also walked in on the night we arrived, took about 35 minutes. Stayed in room... More

Tilbury Lodge isn't pretty, as its photograph shows, nor is the road in which it is located, but it is excellent once one is inside. I was in Oxford for a night on business; knowing how bad Oxford traffic can be I decided to try Tilbury Lodge as being very convenient for the A34 and A420, and even more so... More

We were at Tilbury Lodge last Saturday night and had a lovely stay. We received a friendly welcome from Stefan, who showed us to our huge bedded room and then brought us tea and freshly brewed coffee, accompanied by some delicious little cakes and biscuits. There was also a little jar of homemade chocolate chip shortbreads in the room which... More
