I stayed at Tilbury Lodge for 1 month and I have loved it. It is very beautiful guest house, very close to the city centre (10 minutes by bus and 20 by walk). The rooms are clean and big – it is a place to live in comfort and to enjoy Oxford. Stefan is a very nice owner and a... More

Just returned from a two week visit to Oxford. I was taking a teacher training course and stayed at Tilbury Lodge for the two week period. It has been a most wonderful stay. I loved my room, the friendly staff, the great breakfast, the sweet treats in my room, their hospitality... everything! I would highly recommend this B&B and I... More

We were regular guests of Tilbury Lodge whilst my daughter was at university at Oxford and we considered it a real home from home during that time. She has now graduated but we returned this weekend for no other reason other than an excuse to savour one of Stefan's famous breakfasts. It was as good as we remembered as was... More

Realised I was very lucky to have found Tilbury Lodge with my warm welcome and homemade cake and tea. Rooms are modern, comfortable and immaculately clean. The location is good set on a quiet lane and yet a short walk to catch the frequent buses into Oxford. Breakfast can't be faulted, with plenty of choice and freshly cooked. Stefan and... More

I stay at Tilbury Lodge twice a month whilst visiting Oxford on business. Having stayed in many BB in Oxford, Tilbury Lodge is far superior and will always be my first choice ! Stefan is an outstanding host and his breakfasts are delicious! Easy access to the city centre. I just leave my car at Tilbury as taking a car... More

My party of six spent a weekend here (two couples and two singles). Rooms were clean enough but the South African owner turned out to be quite the rudest, most unpleasant man, I have come across in 40 years of guest houses and hotels. Makes Basil Faulty appear a total charmer. He charged £100 for a single night for a... More

This review is totally defamatory. It is very upsetting and sad that Tilbury Lodge did nothing wrong. We provided our usual outstanding hospitality and all was flawless until check-out. When paying, Robin casually said 'Oh I have lost the key’ as if it was something of no value. He was not concerned to search for the key and became abusive,... More

I can recommend this B&B as a good place to stay in Oxford. First off we found that parking was easy, which was important given the traffic congestion characteristic of Oxford. It was a short walk to a bus stop, so we were able to get in and out of the center of town without much trouble. The owners were... More

Our room was spacious, very clean and nicely decorated, but the food and hospitality are truly what set Tilbury apart. We checked in late and found our room stocked with treats, including delicious homemade cookies. And the breakfast spread was beyond compare. Stefan is very friendly, and we enjoyed talking to him about Oxford, sports, and world events... all while... More

This is the second time I have stayed here and have already booked for next week! A first class place which betters many hotels I've stayed in in Oxford. The little details, such as a foot spa, body lotion, fruit in the room, home-made biscuits and more, really add to the experience. The location is very quiet equating to a... More
