Upon arrival we were greeted by an unsmiling lady with the question: ''when are you going to settle the payment? '' When we asked if we could see the room first, she handed us a key and made a gesture towards upstairs. We found a grimy room nr 5 .Ugly and worn furniture shoved together as if in storage .... Our third visit to the Dial House this time we had room 5 overlooking the car park. Avery spacious room en-suite of course. Well appointed for a B & B the only minor point is that the television could not be adjusted so you can only watch it from the bed, however this is a very minor. Otherwise the staff... More

We stayed here last weekend, my mam and I. Our relative in ITU in John radcliffe hospital, so was half the price of other places in the area and was clean. We weren't there to have fun or be in luxury. If you are going for a holiday I would say, the place needs a revamp, need carpets redecoration throughout... More

My warm twin room was quiet and looked out to the garden. It was clean and simply but adequately furnished as was the ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order. The staff were helpful and most accommodating when my arrangements had to be changed suddenly. John Radcliffe hospital was a 10 minute walk away making visiting easy. Supermarkets... More

Cons ...... The outside looks very run down with the most awful grey curtains hanging from a lower window, looked really messy and nasty, Upon ringing the doorbell and stepping in we were lost! We should have run. The woman that answered was so unfriendly, no smile of welcome just gave us the keys and told us our room number.... More

Looked at their website so booked 2 nights as I was in the nearby hospital . The bedroom was spartan and the bed falling to bits. Flat ancient pillows afforded no comfort. The bathroom Lino (yes Lino) has been lifted by water leaving an odd smell. Cold abrupt welcome, we were not even shown our room, it was just pointed... More

This guest house is in a good location for visiting students at Brooke's University but desperately needs some TLC! It is clean but old/tatty furnishings let it down. Our room on the top floor was a good size and had a double and two singles. The breakfast was cooked to order and was nice. We thought it perhaps has new... More

I booked a night here. Due to some inconvenient arrangement in the following bank holiday, I had to keep staying here until 5pm after checkout in the morning. The staff here were very friendly and welcomed me to stay, and with all my luggage kept in their office. Although the overall quality of this B&B is not above average, I... More

The curtains couldn't close as they were falling off their rails and were unusable. The bathroom although not dirty looked like it as the flooring and the tiles were so worn out and needed replacing. The worst was the breakfast. We had a cooked breakfast and it was beyond awful. They need to hire a decent breakfast chef as soon... More
