After all this reviews I thought to come in a terrible house, but it was a big surprise. The rooms are small but nice, clean and we had a vie to the river, the beds are a little bit old, but for one night OK. The way to the city center is great!! 8 minutes walk, the parking spaces are... More

The River Hotel could not have been better. It was near the train station and not far from town. The staff are so friendly and helpful and are always on hand to help. Breakfast was delicious and the choice of offerings was plentiful and served in an elegant dining room. The surrounding scenery was lovely. The bed was roomy and... More

This was our second visit. Both times we have had a very comfortable stay. The hotel is lower end budget so dont expect The Randolph standard but for the price this place is superb. Both times we asked if we could leave our car for the day on our day of departure and they said yes. We only book this... More

This property would probably have gotten an extra star, had we stayed in the hotel proper. To be fair, she repeated, "I can give you a room in the annex across the street." I took the second time as a warning, and it was. The hotel itself is small, in an attractive older building on the banks of a branch... More

I needed a modest and comfortable place to stay and found it here: the room was good and quiet and the staff were pleasant. I quite enjoy taking tea outside and it's pleasant next to the river. Being close by the train is quite convenient when you're pressed for time.

The staff were friendly and helpful but I would recommend calling ahead if your check out times or daily plans start early so you can discuss arrangements. We had to check out before the office was manned so I could not inform the owner of some of the issues, I am sure if I had, action would have been taken... More

Nice hotel, very good breakfast, pleasant, friendly staff. Very relaxed and cozy place to stay. Our room was fine, nice view. The hotel is located close to the Thames, very convenient, because we were walking the Thames path. River Hotel is also close to Oxford Centre.

We (a group of six) used this hotel for an overnight stop during a 155 mile river Thames canoe expedition from Cricklade to London. Firstly a note for any people who need easy access to the River Thames with canoes or boats do not assume this hotel is perfectly positioned. If you look on Google street-view it appears that their... More

I tried to book a room at this hotel and I'm absolutely disgusted by the receptions attitude! The lady did not want to help in the slightest. Very unprofessional. I wouldn't suggest trying to book this hotel - go elsewhere.

The Hotel is small and cosy. People who work there are nice and helpfull. They let guests feeling as at home. Many foreign languages are spoken, as Italian, French and German. Breakfast is good and generous, and fish (ie traditional smoke kipper) is also served. WI-FI access is free and works well. I can suggest it.
