Looked for a nice hotel mid range price for a city break. Location was great, close enough to walk into Oxford and take advantage of being right by a bus stop and near enough for a taxi ride. Hotel bedroom was clean and comfortable, 1st floor overlooking main road, no problem with road noise for us. Unfortunately the car parking... More

2 mornings in a row the cleaners woke me up. Morning 1, despite the fact we won't checking out, there was a knock at the door at 9 to see if we wanted the room cleaned, no I said. 30 mins later they are back giving me the option of towels if I don't want the room cleaned. These questions... More

We stayed in Oxford one weekend to visit the city and for a spot of Christmas shopping. The Galaxie was a nice hotel on the outskirts of town that was easy to access via the main routes in and out of Oxford. The room was lovely and spacious and the bathroom was clean. Our room looked out onto the street... More

I attended a conference in Oxford and looked for a place close to St. Hugh's College. This property is under expansion, but there was no noise during quiet hours. The room I was given initially was somewhat cold, but I contacted the reception immediately and was assigned a different one, which was quite warm. The bathroom was modern; the bed,... More

This hotel is located in Summertown so on a road served by frequent buses operated by different bus companies making access to and from Oxford City Centre easy and not that expensive (under £5 return). There are also local shops such as a Coop and coffee shop near by. The staff are friendly. I had a large room at the... More

At The Galaxie Hotel you not only get a comfortable bed and a sumptuous buffet breakfast, but you also get very friendly staff who actually go out of their way to give you the best advice and tips about where to eat and drink in this friendly neighbourhood of Oxford. It's just a short walk from the historic city centre.... More

Staff were very friendly and happy to help. The breakfast was great with a variety to choose from. It is a bit of a walk into the city, but there is a bus stop right out the front. The room was quiet and included free wifi.

The staff was wonderful, the rooms were modern (including a nice bathroom) and the breakfast was great. This is a great hotel for the price! I was particularly impressed by the really complete full English breakfast.

Impressed with the bathroom and bed quality. Breakfast was more than what we expected and the staff was very nice and helpful. Bus stop is in front of hotel and for £4 you can ride for 24 hrs. Very convenient. A taxi to the train station is around £6 and the hotel will have it ready for you. Very pleased.

We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed this hotel. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful young woman who told us we had been upgraded to a larger room. The room was really comfortable with an attached large, and well appointed, bathroom. The hotel was quiet at night for sleeping and we really enjoyed the breakfast. There... More
