We recently stayed here for 3 nights whilst we visited Oxford for the first time as tourists. We are a family of four, with 2 children aged 7 and 5 months, so needed all the usual paraphernalia; travel cots, kettles for bottle water etc. Pembroke House was perfect for our needs, the rooms were clean, comfortable and roomy enough for... Pembroke Guesthouse is just outside Oxford in the village of Kennington. The bus to and from the city centre stops just outside the guesthouse and takes 10 minutes to get to the centre! My wife and I stayed for 3 nights and loved it. The room we had faced the back gardens which were really lovely and whilst there is... More

Pembroke Guesthouse was the worsest B&B during our 4 weeks holiday in England. All other hotels have been much better for the same price. When we arrived the first was that we had to pay 500 pounds by creditcard. Then they showed us our smal room. The bathhroom and toilet had 1 squaremeter. Ten meters in front of our windows... More

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. It was very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and staff were very friendly and informative. There was a bit of quirkiness in that the en-suite was accessed by leaving your room and entering the bathroom through a door in the corridor. Also, as a part of the cleanliness regimen, no... More

Claire and her stuff have been very gentle and helpful. She even took her own car to direct me the to right roundabout-exit because for foreign car drivers like me the traffic situation at Oxford in these days has been rather confusing. And the breakfast was fantastic, fresh fruit, tasty cheese, good bread, delicious tomato-omelette! Definetely would go back to... More

We have a lovely stay at The Pembroke for our Anniversary mini break. Over our two night stay the staff were both friendly and helpful. The room was lovely. Clean, comfortable and the en suite shower room had a roomy shower unit and was modern and clean with fresh towels supplied daily. The breakfast was continental and delicious. Although my... More

Hosts were so friendly, helpful and relaxed, delicious breakfast. Allowed us a place to leave bikes even after check out following day. Very informative with regard to places to eat where to walk along river and buses to get into oxford. Attic room was really hot, couldn't open window for fresh air as road busy that is only negative thing... More

The Pembroke has parking, is situated outside the centre, and is right next to a bus stop. As such, it was the perfect campaign headquarters for visits to the college open days. But the Pembroke was far more than this. Our landlady was the model of hospitality and professionalism. We had lovely clean, attractive rooms, the breakfast was marvellous -... More

Bana and Matt filled in quite ably for their mother Clare, who was on holiday from Pembroke Guest House in Kennington. Matt was well organized as he described the Oxford area to us and gave us a copy of the map he had prepared. Bana, a law student, was a perky conversationalist who cooked a flavorful breakfast (and di so... More

You DO NOT want to drive in Oxford but you do want a car to explore the Cotswolds. This B and B has parking(for later exploring) but the best feature is a bus stop right out in front where you can get into and out of Oxford for a minimal charge with frequent buses. There is also a great biking/walking... More
