Positioned about150metres from Magdalen bridge it took about 10 minutes from the hotel to the centre of tourist Oxford. The secure parking was a real bonus and the owners were lovely. Our room was a little difficult to reach and my husband hit his head on the low ceilings in the corridor. It could have been a bit of an... More

My wife and I look back to our overnightning at the Old Black Horse as a victory- We did it. The rooms are dark, uninviting, smelly and the shower trickled. To top off the negative experience - The Old Black Horsef cost as much as the wonderfu Abbey Hotel in Bath, where we spent the previous night.

returned to the Old Black Horse after trying different establishments to watch sport . This is still the best place . It has a great atmosphere and plenty of screens to watch . The range of beers and snacks is great and it attracts a good nature crowd

Great location. Delicious breakfast. George made us feel very welcome. room small but perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean. Good Wi-fi. Bar closed at 10.30 so no late noise. Onsite secure parking too. Will definitely stay again.

Visited a couple of weeks ago with friends to watch the rugby and have a couple of pints . Its a tiny place but has great screens so all can take advantage of the atmosphere . There is a great range of drinks and the service was always quick .

We stayed for a week at Old Black Horse.....Pete the owner was very friendly and bent over to accommodate us at every turn. Great cooked breakfast, nice in hotel pub and front deck. Room was cozy with great service. Guests are made to feel welcome, and it's a great location in Oxford. Hard to find a more personable and friendly... More

Nice little place, clean and tidy. Stayed on couple of occasions for work so alone. Single room is a little cramped but sky tv, WiFi, hair dryer and decent bathroom. Reasonable breakfast, I enjoyed the poached eggs. Great location for doing things but as its above a pub it is as expected noisy at times, especially as Wednesday seems to... More

Booked on the internet for £125 for one night. A very tatty building. The room smelt and was very tatty and dark - many of the lights were either not working or had no bulbs. No heating until 9pm and the electric circuits kept cutting out, so no TV etc for long periods. No internet at all during my stay.... More

I booked 5 nights and changed it to 4, several weeks in advance. Refunds were guaranteed if 24 hours notice was given. I'm still waiting for my refund, despite repeated reminders. What more can I say? It's a shame it came to this - a simple, honest, refund was all that was required.
