We arrived at 11p.m. friday night, a group of 4 ladies on a culture and shopping weekend (more shopping really). The rooms were spotless and a decent size, we didnt bother that the view from the windows were the extractor fans from the restaurant below, we only used the rooms as a base and we were out all day, it... A five minute walk from George Street with some great restaurants and theatres and then another five minutes walk to the main shopping area and university buildings make this a fantastic location for a stay in Oxford. The rooms and bathrooms were clean but Room 109 was quite small so beware if you are offered this room which overlooks the... More

This is the fourth or fifth time I have stayed at the hotel. It is a good location;I find it the perfect stop for visiting the City - a short walk. The hotel receptionists are always so helpful and friendly. The room has everything you need with fresh fruit and tea/coffee and waters.

It's greatest plus point is it's proximity to the train station. Room is clean and neat but rather small. The greatest negativity is the absence of a lift. That means if you have huge luggage, you have to manoveur your way up and down the narrow wooden staircase.

I stayed two nights here. The hotel is located near the train station but also only a five minute walk from the bus terminal. It's not very large and had a cozy feel. The front desk retains the key when you come and go. The staff was friendly and provided city maps. My room was located at the back side... More

We stayed here to attend a friend's wedding. The hotel is very central and conveniently placed. The rooms are spacious, tidy and clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast is not included in the room price and this is not completely clear from the hotel's web site. The hotel was probably once much grander, with the majority of the ground... More

Very friendly welcoming staff, sorted out the parking which is down the road 20 yards at staples. short walk to the main attractions and convenient - be prepared for some noise (we were at the front) as there is a night club diagonally opposite but this is a city hotel after all. Room very clean and well appointed. Top tip... More

Great location and lovely hotel for our regular girlie get togethers. Had a lovely weekend and the hotel was perfect in every way even down to the free bottled water in the rooms replaced nightly. Would definitely stay again and thoroughly recommend.

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel. From the outside it looks a bit sad, but inside it has a very a very relaxing atmosphere. Spacious room and bathroom. Free fruit, coffee, tea and biscuits in the room is a nice touch. We didn't try the breakfast in the hotel, there are many nice places within walking distance.

Really, the only drawback to the Royal Oxford is the lack of a lift, but since the hotel has only a ground floor and 2 floors of rooms, this isn't a big problem. The hotel is extremely close to the Oxford train station, not much farther from the Gloucester Green bus station, and not very far from anything else in... More
