I recently stayed at the Royal Oxford on a business trip. The location can't be beat - right around the corner from the train station, and within an easy walk of everything in Oxford. The room was spacious and airy, and the bathroom looked like it had recently been renovated. Fresh fruit and cookies were provided compliments of the hotel,... more

Stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed tremendously. The only significant negative to this hotel is absence of a dedicated car park, but for those without cars it is very close to bus and train station, and everywhere in the city can easily be reached by walking. The room was spacious, clean, and pleasant. There is some traffic noise but not... more

Stayed in the Royal Oxford for just one night, but really enjoyed our visit. The hotel is the closest one in Oxford to the train station, a nice convenience since our trip was so short. The rooms were clean and well-stocked, and actually larger than I have been accustomed to for the price. The only (and I mean only) gripe... more

This is a 3 star hotel and central to the city's bars, clubs and restaurants. It wont ever be a 4 star and there are reasons. If inspected you can expect a clean room with decent complimentary items such as biscuits, fruit and water. But as many travellers know its not the refurbishment but the standard of the work, and... more

The extractor fan from the kitchens was so loud that it kept me awake until it was finally switched off at 20 past midnight. It came back on at 6am. The hotel refused to move me. They offered no apology or compensation and despite promising that the owner would contact me, no one ever has. Breakfast was very poor. The... more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights, after coming in from the U.S. for a family wedding a few days later in another part of the country. The location of the hotel is perfect. Parking in the Seacourt Park & Ride could not be cheaper or simpler. The staff could not have been more accomodating. Arrival at the... more

The hotel is ideally located right by the train station, the staff were friendly and helpful and the room itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and if you want a decent pint of good ale I'd recommend the Grapes pub which is a few minutes walk away. more

Positives: Quiet room (ask for one away from the road). Great air conditioning. Friendly service at Reception. Very handy for town centre, train station and Said Business School. Negatives: Car-parking is in a shop's car-park 1/4 mile away - although I had no problems, I'm it's not at all secure. Breakfast not always top quality, but was reasonable selection and... more

Stayed in Royal Oxford Hotel for one night only. The pictures of this hotel make it look as if it is in its own grounds. It is most definitely not, it stands on the corner of a five-way junction which makes it noisy all night long. The rooms only have secondary double glazing so don't block out any noise. Car... more

We weren’t given a chance to explain or correct the issues that the customer has raised on the Tripadvisor as he did not bring any of these points to our attention, while staying at the hotel. Therefore I am happy that I have this opportunity and offer the following feedback. In all our literature promoting the hotel we emphasise our...

My daughter and I stayed here for one night, coming to see where my son was living for his study abroad program. We walked from the bus station to check in and the next day walked across the street to the train station to go to London. The main reason I booked this Hotel was for the location (taking luggage... more
