Booked this place purely by chance, but found a gem. Although not ideally located for Oxford city centre, the hotel is situated in the small and picturesque village of Iffley. A short walk takes you to Iffley Lock and from there it’s around 2.5 miles into Oxford, along the river. Food and drink at the hotel, including breakfast, were excellent... More

When booked I thought this hotel was closer to the city centre, but the walk along the river was pleasant. The staff were very friendly, and even though we arrived well before the check in time there was no problem in getting our room. We stayed in a room in Elm House which was clean and furnished nicely. Loved the... More

Fantastic hotel where you can leave your car and walk along the river in to Oxford ,or take the number 3 bus from the end of the street. In a quiet area near Ifley Lock. We had a very comfortablel 3rd floor room looking up to Elm House. Well furnished with flat sceen TV, safe in the wardrobe, tea and... More

One of the good things is that in the UK, are the hotels with style as Hawkweel. We found exactly what we wanted. We did not want to spend much but stay in nice and quiet place. We found exactly what we wanted, thankfully. We traveled by car and also seek hotels that offer free parking at this hotel and... More

We stayed at Hawkwell House for one night. We arrived a couple of hours before the 3pm check-in time but were pleased that we could go straight into our rooms. The room was lovely, clean and very comfortable. We had a couple of reasonably priced drinks in the garden before heading to town. Good choice at breakfast and staff were... More

The Hawkwell House is located in a residential neighborhood quite a ways from the center of Oxford. The hotel was nice, the restaurant service was good and the food very good. Unfortunately, if one does not have a car it is a 5 minute walk and 20 minute bus ride into the city center, which was not what we expected.

We have stayed here twice and would go back in a minute. In a residential neighborhood. City Center is within walking distance along the river. Very friendly and helpful staff. Our rooms were lovely on both occasions. On our second visit, we had a mattress that could stand to be replaced but not bad enough to complain about. Breakfast in... More

Just stayed for one night and the overall experience was very positive. Check in staff were very polite and showed us how to get to Oxford. There is a beautiful walk along The Thames from Iffey Lock into Oxford. It took us 30 mins from hotel to town. The pub along the way, The Isis is well worth the stop... More

We stayed in this hotel for one night in room 206. Upon arrival, the hotel had a very strange smell of fish! This was throughout the lobby and restuarant area, not sure where this was coming from! It was also present the next morning when we checked-out. It couldn't be smelt in the rooms though. I think we must have... More

Booked a double room for a 2 night stay. Modern room with tempur bed but could be more private from the car park with some net curtains. Good evening meal and breakfast even with our first morning order being forgotten .A 40 minute walk to Oxford along the river was great for watching the river action.
