This was our first stay at this hotel and the bottom line is that we would return. The hotel is set in some lovely grounds. Accommodation appears to be in two buildings: the main house with the majority of the bedrooms, function suites, bar and restaurant and Elm House, which is about 100 yards further into the grounds. Elm House... More

Went here for an afternoon conference. Didn't stay so cannot comment on the bedrooms or breakfast. The parking is somewhat limited for a conference but would be enough for hotel guests. The hotel is set in a quiet back road in an nice location. The entrance is well appointed and I was particularly impressed with the toilets which we re... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hawkwell House Hotel for two nights for my brother's wedding. The hotel is located in a pretty-as-a-picture corner of Oxford. It's leafy and tranquil and you'd never believe you were a ten minute drive from the centre of the city. The welcome at the hotel was lovely. The receptionist was wonderfully friendly and... More

We stayed here for 2 nights (fortunately no longer) for my brother's wedding. The room we stayed in (Room 204) faintly smelt of cigarette smoke when we checked in. I did ask someone to look at this, but no idea whether they did. On returning from the wedding on the Saturday night at about midnight the whole of the lobby... More

My stay at Hawkwell was once again excellent. Its out in the country but close to the centre of Oxford. All of the rooms are modern, clean with excellent facilities and the new restaurant provides a wide choice of dishes. The staff are very friendly and in many ways it feels like home when you are there. All in all... More

the reception staff are amazing - especially Emily, Holly, Lizzie and Jasmine and look after everything for you. Food is good and rooms spacey and clean. Fantastic! I will definitely be returning to this hotel again soon.

We are very regular visitors to this hotel and generally have good stays. The levels of noise from other room, and the comfort of beds and matresses is sadly HIGHLY variable depending on which part of the hotel you are in. Some rooms in the main building have paper thin walls, whereas others are fine. On this particular visit we... More

My partner and I visited with her parents to celebrate her mother's birthday. The hotel and grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our rooms. One was on the first floor and very spacious, with a lovely clean bathroom. The other was on the ground floor and, because the hotel is on a hill, is effectively below ground level.... More

My wife and I visited this hotel in October 2013. I chose it because it was in a quiet tranquil location within a pleasant walk of Oxford Town Centre from Iffley Lock and then along the Thames. We stayed for two nights, the first night in the honeymoon suite which has a huge jacuzzi bath in the bedroom and then... More

Returned to this hotel for the 4/5th time and was rather disappointed. We were assigned to Room 107 which smelled very musty. After an hour, with the door fully opened , we could stand it no more and asked to be relocated. This was done quickly and efficiently but we later found out that this problem had been an issue...
