This is, in my opinion, the best hotel for those visiting Oxford. It is slightly out of town but access is easy and there is a car park. The hotel has been up-dated to the highest standards and is situated in it’s own spacious grounds. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and quiet. The toilets in the public area were... More

The room and breakfast deal was very good value, whilst the hotel is not located in the centre of Oxford it is easy to travel to via bus or cab. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help. The room wasn't large, however it was comfortable and clean. A very nice hotel in a quite location. The only... More

This is a really lovely hotel, the Iffley Blue restaurant is exceptional but..... Allowing guests at the hotel to play football in the front garden is absolutely ridiculous and dangerous! This is a main road that you are situated on and an accident will happen when footballs keep being kicked into the road especially when vehicles are passing, or going... More

Stayed here on Thursday 10th July. A lovely bedroom with a beautiful bathroom, enjoyed a good evening meal in their restaurant (good-not great) and couldn't help but be impressed with all the staff and the hotel in general. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel, very clean, tidy, modern and welcoming. Will be staying again in November (for the rescheduled... More

19 family members stayed at this hotel for the weekend to celebrate a birthday. It was chosen as it was a central location for all those arriving. It turned out to be a lucky choice as it was wonderful. The location was super with local buses into Oxford just a short walk away or the walk along the river into... More

Arrived at Hawkwell House, greeted by friendly receptionists, then told that we were staying in Elm House which was a separate house at the rear of the main hotel, it was a fair walk to Elm House and having parked near reception it meant a fair walk to the rooms. My room very clean but very hot and very dark... More

The receptionist did not stare but I noticed her glance. "Times are rough," I shrugged with a rustle when she noticed I had not packed a suitcase for my stay, but a dozen carrier bags (N.B. I had brought the good stuff to offset any judgement on my character; M&S, Body Shop, Sports Direct, et al. Still, total professionalism). "Maybe... More

We stayed at the Hawkwell House for a few nights while we were visiting Oxford last week. While there's much to really like about the place, there are a few things that I need to bring to people's attention. First, what to like. The place is out of the main part of Oxford in a residential area. That makes it... More

Lovely location, beautiful garden, wonderful nature when following the path into Oxford alongside the river. Gorgeous morning runs via the Iffley lock. Hawkwell house has very friendly staff, all smiles and helpfulness. Spacious and very, very room. Good food and okay breakfast. Very friendly walters. Absolutely worth returning to.

We stayed at the hotel for a wedding. Customer service was good and our room was ready much earlier than the advertised time of 3pm. The room was nicely decorated and the bathroom very smart and sparkling clean. The curtain arrangement looked good but didn't block out the light which meant our toddler woke at 5. Ask for a room...
