Stayed at the Randolph on business during March. Hotel is old and tired and could do with an extensive refurbishment. Reception is dark and uninviting and lifts slow and antiquated. Room quality seems to vary greatly, other members of my party complained of having very basic rooms. Parking is expensive but in line with parking charges in Oxford. Staff are... More

This was a return visit to the Randolph Hotel. Booked through secret escapes this time and attending the Literary Festival. It was great. We were upgraded which was a lovely surprise. The room was excellent as was the breakfast. The staff are always very polite, chatty and efficient.

My husband and I recently stayed at The Randolph while attending a friend's wedding. Most of the group had some kind of Oxford connection, mainly from university, and joked that it had always been the "posh" place to stay and that they were looking forward to seeing the inside. While the building is beautiful, it has seen better days- I... More

I stayed at the Randolph MacDonald for one night and it was an excellent experience. The hotel was everything I expected and more, additionally they kindly upgraded my room at no cost and so I ended up having a wonderful stay.

We had a two night weekend stay at this lovely hotel, which also allowed us to take our two little dogs with us. The dogs were only allowed in the Morse bar where they got lots of attention from other guests. The staff throughout the hotel are superb, nothing was too much trouble, always offering to provide water for the... More

Stayed one night, to attend my son's wedding in St John's Chapel, nearby. Arrived at 11.30 and not unexpectedly, the room was not ready. Concierge took care of luggage and we went for a walk and a coffee; when we returned at 12.50, the room was ready so I had time to change and get to the wedding at 2pm.... More

The hotel was very busy with the Oxford Literary Festival - not that we knew this until arrival. We were upgraded to a suite. There was no drop in the level of service which was attentive and just right. The location of the hotel is fantastic for walking around Oxford. Concierge recommended a restaurant for us and booked it -... More

Stayed 21st March in a classic room, nice building overall very historic. Room small but with quality bedding and Milton brown toiletries. Decor and furniture not of five star quality, varnish peeling of the wood mirror frame and bathroom panels. Overcharged in the bar which was rectified by the helpful staff but shouldn't really happen in first place. Had the... More

An all pervading smell of bad drains was the thing that I will remember about this hotel. It was particularly bad in the dining room. The breakfast was nothing special. i have had much better in pub accommodation.
