I stayed for a week at the Old Bank and was very impressed. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. It has a modern feel but traditional character given the setting. But what impressed me more than the building was the staff. They were very hospitable, courteous, and professional. Even after I checked out, they were more than willing to... more

A very pleasant experience indeed. Clearly the hotel’s location is its biggest attraction, augmented by its stunning views over the colleges. If anything I think the hotel’s website underplays these points, particularly the views which are surely some of the best and iconic urban views in the world. Get a room with a view if you can! The hotel’s affiliation... more

Agree with others. Good central location with all-too-rare parking. We went for a seasonal discounted price - would have been disappointed if paying full price but OK at price we paid. more

The Old Bank Hotel is in a superb location which they thoroughly exploit. Rooms are tastefully decorated in a contemporary style. However, at £200 per night this is shocking value . Once you see your room you will be happy but that doesn't provide the £200 worth of value - the staff, food and bar service should. We were rudely... more

I was a student in Oxford and this was my first trip back in years. A number of fellow old students also recommended it and I heartily agree. The location is fantastic - opposite the Radcliffe Camera, half way up the high street and 2 minutes out the back door to Christchurch Meadow. Also, the room rate is costly, but... more

I was very impressed with the quality of the room (comfortable bed, DVD player, great bathroom, etc). The locaiton was also excellent, walking distance to all of Oxford. However the service was not so great and other than the outside terrace (lovely) there is nowhere to relax or wait for friends other than your room or the restaurant. A few... more

The Old Bank Hotel is in an an excellent location and the rooms are nicely decorated in a modern style. However, at £200 per night it is not good value as the bedroom was tiny with no 'wow' factor, breakfast was an additional cost and the girl on reception was rude. Also, although you can go to a gym free... more

I booked a 'good room' and after reading the review here I specifically asked for a quiet room. This was a Friday night near to Christmas and the room cost £235 - without breakfast. As we arrived the bistro was obviously busy with lots of work christmas parties - which was fine except perhaps the very drunk bistro guests could... more

Second stay at the Old Bank, rooms are extremely comfortable, bathroooms are well-equipped, the breakfasts are fantastic-with a huge buffet selection and a range of delicious cooked dishes. The service in all areas could not be better and all in all a stay here is a memorable experience. It is not cheap but for the level of service and standard... more

I shopped around for hours for somewhere to stay for a first anniversary for me and my wife and after reading the reviews on this site were happy to settle on the Old Bank. We are well travelled and I am particularly very fussy when it comes to hotels. This place ticked every single box on an otherwise pretty tough... more
