Whenever we have been in Oxford in recent years we have booked The Old Bank- I think this was our 6th visit. The rooms are very comfortable and tastefully decorated, and we enjoy the original art. The reception staff are always most professional and attentive. What a shame that on entering the Quod Brasserie for breakfast one feels one is... More

Our stay at the Old Bank Hotel in Oxford was a welcome treat! The location of the hotel is perfect for seeing the sites of Oxford. The hotel reception staff were fabulous when we checked in and arranged for us to stay in a Superior Deluxe room for three people. The room was lovely and very clean, and decorated to... More

This Hotel is on the expensive side and the advertising and ambiance promises a great stay. The room was nice but the service killed it. We had to ask for more shampoo, conditioner, soap, toilet paper - they were not replenished. Literally, every piece of advice the concierge (desk clerks) gave us (save how to get to train station) was... More

Disappointing service - we waited nearly 10 minutes till one of the staff (on summer vac. job) sauntered over. We arrived circa 9.30am & there were 6-8 staff on duty & maybe 10 customers. Perhaps we were too early Breakfast was well presented but sadly the buffet no longer exists

As part of a tour, we were put up in the Old Bank Hotel. It was right in the middle of the university area which is what we wanted. There a restaurant, Quod Brasserie, attached which is where we had a nice breakfast each morning as part of the package. It had such a nice menu that we ended up... More

Over the top, prime hotel. Loved it loved it and loved it more. Great location within walking distance to where you want to be. Extremely elegant and high level hotel worthy of every star of five star rating. Filled with great people, great restaurant and absolutely great food.

Very basic room with (room 16) with tiny wardrobe. Severely limited WIFI and staff (poor command of English) unable and unhelpful in trying to find a solution. Very expensive but quality is poor. Many better alternatives in Oxford. July 2015

We stayed at this hotel last summer while visiting our daughter. It was a lovely hotel- clean, airy, pleasant. The room was big enough- I never expect European hotels to have spacious rooms; the bathroom was quite luxurious. The service and amenities were great. Great location- places for breakfast and tea were steps away. We took a bus from the... More

Oxford is not blessed with first rate hotels, and make no mistake, Old Bank is a very good hotel. But interestingly enough, the rooms are smaller than London hotels in the same price range. (And the probable reason is lack of competition). Having said that, it is important to emphasize that the decor, service, quality, indeed everything, is wonderful.
