A comfortable hotel right in the center or Oxford, within walking distance of most attractions. Good queen size bed in a very small room - don't bring large suitcases (got claustrophobic after 2 days)! Free parking, too, and wifi. Good breakfast (not included with room) with cooked to order main dish, in a modern setting. Nice outdoor patio for dining,... More

Central location means you can leave the car in the car park (free) and walk and cycle (borrow one of the hotel bikes) all over this wonderful city. The hotel has a contemporary furnishings, an eclectic art collection and delicious breakfasts served in Quod. The staff are very welcoming, helpful and efficient. This time, our room on the second floor... More

Once checked in decided to book an extra night immediately. The hotel is in the middle of town so is very convenient for shopping and sightseeing. The staff are all extremely pleasant and helpful and the rooms are beautifully furnished and well equipped. The hotels restaurant is the Quod which serves food all day. We ate there twice and were... A good location, decent sized car park, and a decent sized room. Tiny wardrobe spaces, though at those prices, I wouldn't expect anyone to be staying long. Restaurant OK - a plate of sandwiches was almost 5£ and when they arrived, we had to order more - they were miniscule - no garnish - not a lettuce leaf or a... More

Granted, Oxford's choice of top quality hotels is very limited, however is you are expecting a luxury treatment and believe the copy on their website like I did, you will be disappointed. The hotel is good for an overnight business trip when you need to be in the center and its offering is average at best. If the weather is... More

The wonderful location is the main reason I'd stay here again, but also factoring in is the charm of this lovely place. The staff is welcoming, and the guest lounge is a quiet spot for relaxing. The breakfast menu is excellent, and when we wanted a light meal after a busy day, the hostess made suggestions that were just perfect.... More

Booked a private dinning room for a party of business colleagues. Nice enough, but food distinctly average overall, no particular complaints but won't be rushing back....nice surroundings and hotel itself very nice, just very underwhelming dinning experience

Thanks very much for your review So sorry you felt underwhelmed. I do hope you forwarded your comments to the restaurant team too, so they could look in to why you felt this way. I would hope that our private dining guests would be delighted by their experience. Ben Truesdale More

Before arriving I had no idea about "rising bollards" and the cutting off of traffic within the center of Oxford. It is imperative, really, that you stay centrally is you are going to maximize your time in all of the wonderful historic sites. Expensive. Yes. Tiny rooms. Yes. Centrally located? Cannot be beat. Plus, the staff is lovely; the hotel... More

Thanks so much for your review I'm glad you enjoyed and managed to find your way to the car park. It is always better to pre-plan that bit of your journey, I must admit, as Oxford can be a bit of a maze. I hope to see you soon. Ben Truesdale More

We only had time for a short visit to Oxford, and this was the perfect place to stay! You could not have a more central location, the restaurant was nice, the room vas very nice and we had excellent service. If I come back to Oxford I will certainly try to stay here again.

Really comfortable and delicious experience at this hotel. We went on a stay and dine package for £285 plus drinks paid for on top on a semi business combined with mid week break trip on August 5th. We were looked after well. Quods food was excellent ,particularly the seafood risotto and woodsmoke grilled burgers. We stayed in a downstairs disabled... More

Thanks very much I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We do serve streaky bacon at breakfast but do have back bacon if required. So sorry we didn't manage to alert you to that. I hope to see you again soon. Ben Truesdale More
