We've stayed at the Old Parsonage in the past, and always found it to be charmingly luxurious, all be it very expensive. However, on the basis of our visit last month it seems standards have definitely slipped, to the point where although the hotel itself is in a lovely building and very close to the centre, it falls far short... This should be a lovely hotel, set in central Oxford in a beautiful old building - albeit with tiny rooms. However, the hotel is totally spoilt by the fact they seem to want to have their hand in your wallet at every opportunity - as my wife remarked, "We might as well have left our money at the reception desk... This is a glorious little gem in Oxford. Our 2nd floor room windows were covered with Wisteria vines, our bed was sumptuous and the bath was newly renovated. Loved the uneven floors (this a was an old parsonage.) The church bells next door chimed on Sunday. The food was world class. Free internet! Also, loved the free bikes for guests.

The hotel was smaller than I was expecting tucked away in the centre of Oxford - but a real little gem. The rooms are pricey but perfect, with good quality sitting areas, desk, lovely frabrics and linen. A notable feature is the the experience of breakfast in the little restaurant area with the log fire and candles buring (summer and... More

The Old Parsonage is, as the name suggests, a small country hotel in the outskirt of historic Oxford. It is cozy and well decorated. Excellent English restaurant (yes, the English food is actually excellent!!!) , extremelly caring and well informed staff, and very civilized atmosphere. But the best thing about the hotel are the actual room accomodations. Although not big,... More

On the upside. Excellent loaction. Parking extremely limited but the hotel very happy for us to leave our car on the carpark after we checked out providing it was moved by 3pm. Reception staff very welcoming. Room small but everything we required and in working order, the bed was very comfortable, shower was also excellent. Staff very friendly. Breakfast charged... More

This is a cosy hotel, well located for seeing Oxford (or for business), just north of the city centre in a fairly busy but not noisy location. Our room was comfortable - small, but well thought out. The service was generally very good; a couple of members of staff were simply excellent, and a couple were less helpful than they... More

I really liked the hotel when I arrived and totally disliked it when I left. So here is the sublime: the parking at the hotel is very limited. When I arrived there was no free parking available but a narrow space became available and the concierge helped me for 15 minutes to squeeze my car in there. The hotel is... More

This hotel has a lot of positive aspects about it. The staff are exceptionally friendly and professional and try their best to make sure your stay is enjoyable. The location can't be beat, a short walk to the middle of everything. The bar is cosy with a beautiful fireplace, great decor and good drinks. It gets rather crowded and is... More

Wow: a hotel which does what it says on the tin. We spent our first weekend away from our two babies here. The service was excellent: late-night sandwiches were fresh, as was the breakfast in bed (although there's only one option available, it included the most french-tasting croissants this side of the channel). we read our books in the v...
