My wife and I had only two days to spend in Oxford by way of a pleasant side trip in England. The Acorn made that visit all the more pleasant. Kate and Henry, our hosts, were both a delight, as was Annie the labrordoodle, who greeted us pleasantly each morning. Kate and Henry were very welcoming and provided an excellent... More

This was pretty good. The bed was nice, I had a lovely shower and there was a charming view out of the dormer window in our top floor room. Breakfast was in a cosy little room downstairs and it was plentiful with lots of toast and butter and every good thing. There was also a dog, so that makes everything... More

We had a lovely time at the Acorn Guest House with our hosts Kate and Henry. The English attention to detail really adds value to the experience. Being able to take a hot shower with their wonderful shampoo, sleep comfortably and have a tasty cooked breakfast in the morning is just marvelous. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting... Stayed here for the one night to go to see a band at the O2 academy. Easy to find and a short walk to the venue. The room was lovely and clean. Super comfy bed and so quiet all night. Owners are really helpful too. Can't comment on breakfast as I left before it started.

This place isn't going to win awards. But if you've been looking for somewhere inexpensive for Oxford to stay - good luck. It's got to be one of the pricier of towns to stay in. This Guest House offers pretty simple accommodation but for the price which is good - the location is not far from the Oxford centre and... More

This started with the only small negative - parking was a bit awkward, but only because of renovation work being carried out to the owners' adjoining property. However ample parking very nearby on streets. The welcome we received was lovely and warm and we were allowed room access despite arriving quite early. The room was big, clean, quiet and well... This was our second time of staying at the Acorns and a warm welcome back from hosts Kate and Henry. Large quiet room over looking the garden at the back of the house (A6). Fantastic breakfasts. Many of the hotels in Oxford are overpriced and under deliver. ( we have tried most at different times ). A double here was... More

Acorn Guest House was the first stay in our 2 weeks traveling throughout Great Britain. We used it as a "home base" to visit Oxford, Bath, Uffington, Winchester and Salisbury. First, the location was great .... an easy walk to the sights of Oxford, an easy drive to other historic destinations. Second, the hospitality was just wonderful .... Henry is... More

We were there in mid-Sept and enjoyed our 2 night stay there. The owners were friendly and we were able to park our rental car there right in front. 15 minute walk to center of town. Breakfast was very good also.

We stayed here on the August Bank holiday weekend. The room was lovely and clean showere room was very compact. The furnishings are a little dated. There were nice extras like shower gel and cotton buds and hot chocolate. There was building work going on next door so we were woken up at 8.30am on Monday morning. The breakfast was... More
