This guest house is a nice place to stay in Oxford. It is not far from the university setting and there is food, restaurants, and bus stops all within walking distance. We had a nice room on the first floor that had big sliding glass windows to the back yard. It is a peaceful setting. The breakfast served was average.... More

We have stayed many times at this Guesthouse, which is conveniently located, but, best of all, has a room with a balcony overlooking the garden. Our main gripe earlier has been the wifi system, which was atrocious, and certainly didn't work in the bedrooms - this time it is perfect, they must have got a new system. We read with... More

Having read the negative reviews here I really wanted to like the hotel. I like to root for the underdog. Sadly, it was fine by day but terrible at night. I arrived to a cosy and comfortable room, and in the morning had a hot shower. The staff were very friendly, interested in my stay and keen to make sure... More

The rooms are tired, the staff seem to regard guests as objects to be rude to. Room 8 is to be avoided, located between reception and the front car park. This ensures you can hear the rudeness from early on from one side, and the sound of cars from the other. The breakfast looked rather plastic so I gave it... More

A hotel which provided a clean room and an acceptable breakfast both for meat eaters and vegetarians. Staff were efficient. Only request we made was for a 3rd mug for the room as only 2 provided. tea, coffee etc plentiful.

This place is a dive, I would forgive a multitude were the staff friendly, try grumpy and rude for your money!!! I was put in a pokey, over-heated room in a woefully uncomfortable bed. Cheap pine furniture ala late 1980s everywhere the towels are actually funny (grey, paper weight).

If you ever wish to go to Oxford, I'd greatly advise you not to even consider this guest house. The staffs were rude, imprudent, annoying, insulting and unmannerly people. They shouted at us, kicked us out of our room and said that they won't clean it if we do not get out now. They knocked loudly and they scolded us... More

Compared with the other guest houses nearby, Pickwicks is average. Comfortable enough but not the same quality as others. Recently under new ownership and the place feels a little different to what I previously remember. Service level was good.

After reading some of the awful reviews left for this place we were bracing ourselves for the worst. This place has either had a good refurbishment or people just have extremely high standards for a guesthouse. We stayed in a room on the ground floor which accommodated up to 4 people- it was clean, comfortable, nicely furnished and all the... More

I have stayed here more than once. This is quite a basic B&B compared with others nearby, but it is also the cheapest. Staff are friendly and the breakfast as good as the more expensive establishments in this part of Oxford, which is convenient for the Radcliffe Hospital and Brookes University. Decor is a bit tatty and the plumbing a... More
