Having arrived at their sister hotel, the Blenheim Buttery after a long day's shopping at Bicester Village the news that our booking had been cocked up and there was no room at the Inn wasn't exactly music to my ears. In fairness, I'd booked through a third party and then changed the date but it wasn't a good start. Luckily,... More

You cant get a better location for a stay in Oxford really. Right in the middle of buzzing Broad St, with a load of things going on within walking distance. The downside of this convenience is the hotel is very noisy. We had a room on the front of the hotel and it is only single-glazed to the street and... More

We had a deluxe double... Big room, comfy bed and duvet, clean with a stunning view of the college against the dark blue sky especially just before sunset (we were lucky with the weather). Right in the center, close to everything. Both the morning and evening reception staff were warm and friendly, but special mention for Victoria, the lady who... More

Parking is always a problem in oxford, but this hotel is in a prime location and is opposite the majestic dreaming spires. Although a little expensive at full price, there are often deals available and the rooms are superb. Breakfast is good and the cafe opens afterward so you can enjoy a coffee in a location featured in Lewis (most... More

Staying overnight as we were guests at a weeding party held in a much more expensive hotel, but just a few minutes walk away. Hotel is above the Buttery Cafe which provides a very good breakfast and we found the standard double room to be clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect for... More

I'm afraid I cannot recommend The Buttery. It's a nice enough guest house - our deluxe room was expensive, I thought - but clean, big and comfortable. There's a rather severe staircase to get to the reception desk and a lot of creaking floorboards and other unwanted sounds from other rooms. I was a little suspicious when we were made... More

Quirky and good value. That says it all. Well, nearly! The welcome us friendly and efficient. The rooms are clean and comfortable - good for the price. It's central Oxford and during term time, it can be noisy at night with the volume of young people out and about in town. Breakfast, though good, is at the cafe below the... More

Stayed at the Buttery for my wife's birthday and was pleasantry surprised with how central the location was. So easy to walk everywhere and sites nearby as were many bars and restaurants. The flip-side of a central location was the noise, although not directly near a late night venue, many patrons of nearby venues do walk by 'loudly'. It is... More

We stayed at The Buttery just before Christmas. I really liked the place. The guy on reception was really friendly and helpful, and our room was a good size and overlooked Broad Street. We had a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning too. The location is great; just a short walk to the centre, shops and bars. Parking round here... More

This is the second time we have been to the cafe for lunch - First time it was great, lovely food, good service and we really enjoyed it. As we had enjoyed it last time we came again - really bad service, the glass I was given was dirty I asked for another one which was washed for me on... More
