Look no further for excellent food, comfortable and spacious rooms, friendly service, and value for money. My wife and I were really glad that we’d avoided the bright lights of Henley for the rural charms of Lower Shiplake (a lovely 30 minutes walk from Henley along the Thames path). My husband and I stopped off at this hotel for the night, as part of walking the Thames Pathway. At the end of a 24 mile walk we were utterly exhausted, and the Baskerville provided the perfect recovery spot. The staff, atmosphere and food were all perfect. We stayed in the family room at the Baskerville for one night. Great location, in a quiet position, but only 5 mins drive from Henley. Accommodation was more than adequate for our purposes, clean, and decoration in good order. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Quite a homely atmosphere. Breakfast was extremely good - cooked to order by the chef.... more

Just returning from a four-nights-stay I can only and simply recommend this place for everybody looking for one of the best-kept pubs, the most outstanding pub-food at reasonable prices and a first-class b&b-accomodation. Graham is keen on showing british cuisine at its best, the ales are well kept and the locals attending the pub are non-snobistic (mind the area ...)... more
