The Falkland Arms is one of those places that once you step inside you don't really want to leave. It has a character all of its own that will leave you gazing around the bar area with endless curiosity about why there are so many jugs hanging from the old oak beams, taking in the faded wooden benches and tables... Our night in the thatched-roof cottage was the most memorable and enjoyable lodging experience that I have ever had. Great Tew was picturesquely Shire-like, with stunning green hills surrounding the honey-colored stone buildings. The pub is comfortably anachronistic, with no photos doing the atmosphere adequate justice. The fire in the corner and tankards hung from the beams make you feel... More

This pub never fails to deliver on atmosphere, food and of course beer - well it is a pub! Booked a Saturday night table for to enjoy with my dad, other half and the dog! Great thing here is that Ben and the team make every effort to make you feel welcome and as if you're a local! Fabulous. Compliments... More

A great base to explore the Cotswolds, the Falkland Arms is a beautifully old pub and hotel. We had room 6, up in the eaves - one of the nicest hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. The pub is cosy, lively and full of history. We enjoyed two evening meals and breakfasts here, all delicious. The staff were friendly... More

May 16 2015. What a beautiful Pub/Hotel. Loved the climbers on the outside wall and the quaint bar with all the mugs and tankards and jugs hanging from the beams. Original wood panelling and old settles. The staff very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. As there were quite a few of us, they had reserved tables... More

The setting of the pub is just so quintessentially English hamlet! It is what it says on the tin "a pub" but it is so much more than that. It is quaint, quirky and delightful all at once. The rooms are clean tidy and more than adequate although if you're like me 6ft or more mind your head going up... More

We dropped in for a light lunch on Sunday. We ordered a charcuterie platter which, priced at over £12, I felt would be suitable for sharing. What a disappointment. Two small pieces of meat, a tiny salad with a shaving of parmisan , a tiny ramican of olives and cheese and 3 tiny slices of bread. Don't get me wrong... More

We stayed one night with friends and booked two rooms. One superior and one standard. The superior is larger than the standard, but both rooms were good, however the beds are perhaps to short for tall people. Wifi in the rooms, was very poor. Service was excellent, all of the staff where very, very friendly. Food was excellent. The Falkland... More

This pub looks fantastic from the outside and is equally amazing inside. An English pub at it's best! We stayed here for one night and wished it had been for longer. The service, along with excellent food and a HUGE range of whisky, made for one of the best experiences we have had in a long time. Jack and his... More
