Lovely lunchtime visit. Had a wide cask ale selection which were all fresh. The food menu was interesting and what we ordered was very tasty. The staff were very friendly also, so we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

This was our second trip to the Falkland Arms. The last time was in 2006. We stayed in room 6, as previously, so we were prepared for the tricky climb up the spiral staircases, although, after reaching "the summit", it is a lovely big room. First problem was the bed which needed the mattress replacing as you could feel the... More

We were given the toblerone-shaped room at the top of the building, only accessible by two spiral staircases, the second even more miniscule, cramped and precarious than the last. The room was cold, too. That said, the bar has a lovely rustic atmosphere, full of good humour and bonhomie. Even the enthusiastic swearing seemed politley done. The dinner was of... More

Spent 2 nights at Falkland Arms (room 5), breakfast and meals on both evenings lovely. Staff helpful checked up for us brewery tour time at local Hook Norton and booked it (at reduced price) over phone. The Pub is quaint, original and very relaxing. As others have mentioned you can hear voices/laughter from Bar when in room but not a... More

Great hotel in a tiny but well formed village. All the buildings are thatched and the village is exquisite. We stayed in the cottage which was fab and our friends stayed in the hotel. It's not a five star de luxe hotel but I can find nothing to criticise. We had a meal in the restaurant/ pub and everyone in... More

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at The Faulkland Arms. We had the cottage which was very pretty. Our friends stayed in rooms 1 and 5 in the pub. The staff were very friendly and we could not fault the service we were given. We ate at the pub on Saturday night the food was very enjoyable. We... More

Stayed in the cottage - very quaint and easy - just a few yards from the pub. There's a small kitchen so if staying for a few days, the self-catering would be fine. The pub itself is in a timewarp - still sells clay pipes and snuff !! Evening meal was excellent pub grub, and the place had atmosphere and... More

A beautiful old English pub. A group of us stayed there. Dinner which was fantastic with great selection, quality and value. Rooms were very well presented and great breakfast too. Charming little village. Will certainly be returning again.

Great Pub with lots of character. Stayed 2 nights in Room 1 which was well appointed, clean and well maintained. Food in the restaurant was lovely and good value for money. We had a lovely relaxed and interesting stay. Lots of History. Friendly and accommodating. Have highly recommend to all my friends. Loved it.

Fascinating old pub in a delightful village which welcomes one and all with a charming and genuine warmth. We stayed in the village over the Christmas period and booked in for Christmas lunch. Jack the manager emailed us the menu to ascertain if there were any special requests. Of course my perpetually hungry 24 year old son requested that he... More
