Visited this hotel for a meal while we were having a weekend away. Really impressed with the ambience in the bar when we entered but it went downhill after that. Watery wine and a steak pie that had to be returned. My husband couldn't get his knife through the meat as it was burnt and the whole thing dry. I... More

Stayed here with the family while attending a wedding. This hotel would benefit from a visit by Alex Polizzi, as the bedrooms are in serious need of updating. We booked three rooms and none of them were up to standard for what they charged per night. The beds were very uncomfortable, we could feel the springs in our bed, and... More

We stayed overnight on a Sunday, whilst visiting friends who live in Chippy. The hotel has a pleasant Cotswold charm about it and a relaxed atmosphere. The spacious Room 31 ( though a long walk from reception ) had a lot of character with a four poster bed and other period touches. The buffet breakfast was fine. Given what we... More

We loved our weekend at the Crown & Cushion. Feels very English, down to the closet in the room which my wife suggested could lead to Narnia if opened. Was exactly what we were after. The English breakfast was also nice.

This hotel is in a good location in the middle of Chipping Norton and within walking distance of local shops and restaurants. It also offers on site parking. The hotel is in need of some refurbishment but has a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for our walking group. The bedroom was average and there was no over bath shower, just a hand... More

Classic building with good parking in he centre of town. Ate evening meal in the bar - food was well prepared and service was good. And that is where the good news ended. Room was large and well appointed, but right on a busy road and the windows were single pane - road noise. Bed classic four poster with mattress... More

Turned up late and put in a room which smelt damp and had peeling paint on the walls and windows loose tiles in the bathroom and a rusty toilet roll holder. Also we had to put up with a noisy kitchen fan outside our room. Breakfast was a do it yourself affair with a tea urn and a selection of... More

Tiny, scruffy room on top floor with most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on. Springs poking through mattress so slept on top of duvet! Toiletries very basic - tiny sachet of shampoo/shower gel, would need at least 2 for a shower/hairwash. Kettle had to be plugged in on floor, hairdryer had such a short lead they didn't reach near... Parked outside hotel at 2.30pm and wanted a light snack, before continuing journey. Menu looked interesting and eventually found the courtyard entrance. Decided on two bar snacks, but was offered the Pensioners Menu. Two coursed £5.95 each. Opted for that, thinking that it would be a nice light lunch. Two huge well presented portions arrived. One curry the other vegetarian.... More
