We stayed for two nights at the end of January. Our room was clean and warm and we slept very well. Breakfast was of good quality and there were a range of options on offer; we particularly appreciated that breakfast continued until 11am on Saturday and Sunday, allowing for a a lie-in. Despite being a lively pub, there was no... More

Just leaving after a one night stay on the way to Crocodiles of the World. Stayed in the Goldcrest room and have nothing but positives to say. Room was warm and very comfortable (minus 3 degrees outside), good hot drink facilities, free wifi, lovely and large private bathroom (this is next door to the room but clearly identified on the... Arrived at reception and the guy at reception was on the phone, didn't acknowledge me waiting and carried on his conversation for the best part of 5 minutes. I had booked the cheapest room with private bathroom and he upgraded me to an en-suite at no extra cost. Room was OK, although the lighting was poor. The room was quiet... More

The hotel is very nice food very good for the price. Been here for the food from time to time for 30 years. Always been good but this time stayed in the kingfisher room no hot water room was just ok and no more. Told the manager and he did go up and come back down just said it needed... More

Very friendly manager and barmaid (Charlie). Room fine but could have been cleaner......cobwebs in wardrobe. Had room at front of hotel and was woken at 5am by heavy lorries coming up high street. I couldn't get back to sleep as succession of heavy lorries going past kept me awake until breakfast. When they were big, the floor was actually shaking... More

Pleasant enough welcome, room smelt of curry or something really odd on arrival, place itself was acceptable if a little bit underwhelming for the price. Info pack said you could connect to wifi with no signing in. needed a password which meant another trip downstairs, couldn't be bothered. Shower was completely cold and low pressure, too late in the evening... More

I booked here for a holiday to visit a friend who lived nearby. They confirmed a rate with me on the phone and sent an email follow up. The email did not include their cancellation policy nor did it reconfirm the rate. When I called to cancel the day before due to a family emergency (father was ill last minute... More

As with every hotel we have many late cancellations and people not turning up for their rooms. Whilst we have every sympathy for someone who has a genuine reason to cancel we still have bills to pay. It is impossible for us to determine which customers are being honest as to the reasons they no longer want to stay. Therefore... More

Used this for a holiday in the Cotswolds with a friend involving walking, sightseeing and pub visits. The facilities were exactly what we needed for our kind of holiday. Location was ideal for Burford and beyond. We found the staff friendly, informative, and entertaining when appropriate. The food was excellent - we had cooked breakfast every day, and ate in... I stayed here last night and am grateful to the staff there. Check in closes at 7pm but they were kind enough to hold it open for two extra hours until I could get there. The room was comfy and warm, and I slept like a log. Breakfast was tasty too.

Didn't expect much from this hotel but it was a really quirky pub /inn, a bit one the lines of something that i would like to find in rural France. The food and the atmosphere were extremely good in the evening and the staff were cheerful and attentive .
