The Highway inn was a fantastic place to stay. Lovely clean rooms with tea and coffee making facilities, ensuite, tv, and warm. There was attentive service throughout our stay and every meal was amazing. Confit of duck, lemon posset, steak and the breakfasts were delicious. whole sea bass- delicious. Burford is an ideal location. We got the bus to Blenheim... More

Came home yesterday after two nights here with an Amazon voucher offer. After reading previous reviews, we did expect to have a wonderful time. Yes, the hotel is old and quirky and the décor is good. Our room at the front overlooking the road was small but adequate, although no hanging space to speak of. We kept it warm by... More

We spent a night here last week using an Amazon Local voucher, a present for my husbands birthday. Lovely old hotel with friendly staff, a very good two course dinner and lovely breakfast with local produce. Sherry in the room was a welcome touch! Burford is an interesting Cotswold town to wander for a few hours with plenty of cafes... More

Popped in on the Sunday for a bite of lunch and was just in awe of this pub .. This family run pub is absolutely beautiful , amazing decor and lovely fireplace .. Service was good and the lady who served us was delightfully friendly .. And the food was absolutely fantastic just a burger and a roast but cooked... More

Stayed for two nights as a winter break. Very nice rooms and good breakfasts. Apart from the usual tea/coffee facilities in the room, a decanter with dry sherry was also provided - very acceptable. We eat in one evening and had a lunch and were served promptly with good food on both occasions.. The location is excellent - right in... More

Booked a two night break using an Amazon Local voucher. I left it late to book and the only room available was a small double room with en-suite shower, which I accepted. However the small double turned out to be a draughty attic room under the eaves, my fault for not booking earlier but the room had everything we needed.... More

Popped in for a drink as the place looks overfishing the woman behind the bar was very cold and not in keeping with the warm and welcoming decor...also their range of beers is limited to a handful of unknown local options and served in a dirty glass...don't bother...unless you like snooty bar staff and lack of choice.

A very comfortable place to stay in the Cotswolds. Lovely historical building that is obviously very well run. Very convenient location in the middle of the high street and free parking is no problem on the street outside. Plenty of local options to eat and drink but the food and drink at the Highway Inn itself is exceptional. We'll definitely... More

We were given a voucher for a one night stay with bed, breakfast and an evening meal as a gift. Last night's stay at The Highway Inn was excellent. Our room was clean, comfortable and full of character as is the whole building. We enjoyed an amazing meal in the restaurant in the evening, the belly pork just melted in... More

We didn't intend to stay anywhere around Burford, but our journey was made impossible after terrible incidents on more than one motorway. So we had done no research. In fact, it was only through the kindness of the chap at the Cotswold Gateway that we got a room. The Gateway was full, and through his phone calls we ended up... More
