Only stayed one night at the Burford Lodge and didn't spend much time there but the owners and the staff are very warm and friendly and seem genuinely concerned about their guests. To my mind that's a huge plus. I had a single room at the back - so no road noise. It was reasonably spacious, well equipped with a... More

Just returned from a one night stay at Burford Lodge, we were very pleased with our stay, all accomodation clean, tidy and comfortable. Very reasonable rates. Staff very friendly. Complimentary tea and biscuits on arrival, which was a nice touch. Breakfast lovely. Owners have only been in for five weeks and have lots of ideas to improve the place. Would... More

The new owners have only been at the hotel for a few weeks and are gradually refurbishing it. What they have done so far is very good. The atmosphere is very friendly, the rooms clean and comfortable and the breakfasts excellent. We hope to stay there again and will recommend it to others. Wishing them all the luck for the... More

Stayed over last weekend, room was fine, service was great, so was breakfast. New people taken over & trying hard to get this place back on its feet! Great value for what you get, cheaper than the Travelodge across the road with great breakfast included. The place is old, most places are in Burford, so in you want double glazing,... More

Spacious Car Park and an "Olde Worlde" charm about the place. Clean and tidy Reception and a friendly welcome. Room was OK although the plumbing is getting a bit tired and the "Bain Douche" (a stepped half-size bath with a shower at one end) was difficult and potentially hazardous to get into and out of (slip/trip hazard on wet surfaces)... Unfriendly, unwelcoming, dark and dingy. Huge cobwebs in the bedroom, two lights out of three not working in the bathroom. Came back before 10.00p.m to find the bar closed and locked. And they had the cheek to charge us twice the price quoted on the website. Not a pleasant experience at all More

Very poor standard, dirty and more like a hostel or where lads on a stag night out would stay. Very disappointing . One person did reception, cleaning and served breakfast. Breakfast was miserable. They got our ro booking wrong and cold when we got in, couldn't wait to get out. Very very disappointing. More

my boyfriend and i had a wonderful two nights here back in august. we loved the food and the wine (although possibly slightly over priced). the general atmosphere was warm and very welcoming. the two ladies who ran the place were extremely lovely and we can't wait to go back and visit them! major bonus that they are dog friendly!! We didn't stay in the hotel so cannot comment on the rooms etc but we did stop here for Sunday lunch last weekend whilst on our way to Ross on Wye. The service was friendly and welcoming but the food was very, very disappointing. My wife's meal (lamb) was swimming in far too much gravy and not very pleasant whilst... More

Had 1 night here in May 2011. The car park was sizeable, no probs parking. Location was about 100-200m from the top of the long hill which is the main road that runs through Burford. Got there quite late so decided to sue the restaurant in the hotel, which was very good. Not a cheap hotel, but the building is... More
