We stayed for 2 nights and cannot recommend this hotel enough. The rooms are spotlessand full of character, the food was superb and the staff are the friendliest we've come across! Breakfast was brilliant with a large choice of hot and cold dishes, with everything freshly prepared for you. The new owners were extremely welcoming and knowledgable about the local... more

I couldn't have asked for a more luxurious, romantic awe inspiring bedroom! The perfect place to indulge in some champagne, strawberries and chocolate, the freshness of the produce is second to known and the standard of service immpeccable with a beautiful choice of champagne. The evening meal was to a high standard with some beautiful hand dived scallops and succulent... more

After reading the other reviews I wasn't expecting much. However, I was pleasantly surprised, the new managemment were friendly and willing to help in every possible way! Breakfast is now served from 7.30, which was ideal as a I had to be at a meeting in Oxford 9am! The staff were helpful and considerate, nothing was too much trouble. Perhaps... more

Unless you want just a muffin and pre-packaged uht milk don't expect breakfast before 8.30. Can you believe the breakfast room does not open before 8.30 any day of the week!!? The tea and coffee making facilities in the room are one and the same - a choice of teaffee or cofftea. Otherwise rooms good and evening food very good. more

We stayed at the Burford Lodge Hotel for one night last weekend and found the staff very welcoming. The room was small but clean and adequate. The bathroom was excellent being clean and well laid out although in our room there was only a shower so if you like a bath this may not be for you.The public areas were... more

We had a good night's stay in the Burford lodge in September 2008. The staff were excellent and really helpful. We'd arrived after the restaurant had shut, but they still cooked us dinner. They were also very helpful in helping us find out how to get to the wedding we were going to. Breakfast was good too - with a... more

After reading other reviews, I felt sure that this hotel would be good. Some reviewers mention that they have stayed at some of the finest hotels in the world. I am not sure which "finest" hotels, as this hotel does not compare favourably with other hotels we have stayed in ourselves. Location - on a busy road, 5/10 minutes outside... more

We have just returned today from the Burford Lodge. It is a fantastic hotel. From the moment you arrive the staff were really friendly and helpful and made our stay really enjoyable. The bar and restaurant area is really cosy with a lovely comfy sofa and chairs. The food was really nice and the Irish and Calypso coffees were delicious.... more

I'm never one to be downbeat but arriving at the Burford Lodge I was just ever so slightly disappointed. I did realise it was on the A40 however it was in such an uninspiring location that my heart sank a little. Burford is a lovely town it's just that this place does not feel part of it more like a... more

After a long awaited weekend away, my wife and I were not expecting the service and style we welcomed at Burford Lodge...the staff, the rooms, the food were stunning - we can honestly say everything was absolutely fabulous....I dont think I have ever said anything so forcefully before - they really deserve all the praise we had read before our... more
