Stayed ( four of us) late May for two nights. Didn't know what to expect with quite a few bad reviews. Was pleasantly surprised it was very nice!!! Both rooms were in good order and en suite bathrooms were superb. Breakfast was very nice and the host very friendly. It's quite a busy road it is situated on but to... More

It's on the busy A40 so best not get a room facing the road. It's beautiful oldie worldie with a lovely bar. They do a very good breakfast but no dinner. However Burford is well endowed with good pubs and restaurants (see Angel Inn). Can be difficult getting bags to first and second levels but staff will help. I thought... More

The Lodge is just on the outskirts of Burford - 5 minutes walk into town. Loads of parking. The room was not huge but clean and perfectly adequate for staying a couple of nights. It could do with a bit of upgrading but I think the owners were relatively new, so perhaps they may have plans for it. the breakfast... More

My husband booked Burford Lodge for our wedding anniversary. The hotel was spotless as was the room.Breakfast was very tasty and the staff very nice. Our room was cosy and had character. As we were out and about we didnt spend lots of time in the room anyway.Lovely area and lots of lovely places to visit and eat in. Burford Lodge... More

Very disappointing. Property needs renovation, limited food and bar service and rooms quite simply not up to even a three star standard - given a hefty rate of £ 120 per room! Strongly suggest one looks elsewhere. Property has character and staff were friendly but there are better options in the immediate area.

I found on arrival the whole places bit strange, I seemed to be the only resident around. I remember staying here a fewyearsago and it was very good. Positives, clean linen, comfortable bedroom, good breakfast. Negatives, rooms need redecorating, bar and facilities poor lacks any atmosphere. However can't help think it would not take a lot to put right and compete... More

I booked Burford lodge for Saturday 4th April 2015 for my boyfriends birthday. We stayed in a standard double room on the first floor. I don't normally write reviews as I think people can nit pick at things and may not be realistic, however, I wasn't happy with our stay so here goes. The whole building and the rooms are... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights bed and breakfast. The hotel appears stylish and traditional from the exterior - with stone built construction and its own car park. The interior is disappointing and requires investment. I believe that the current owners purchased the hotel around one year ago. Having said that, the bed linen and bathroom towels were... More

We arrived for one night stay at weekend. Bedroom was in attic room with tiny furniture to match dimensions. Half shower bath and tiny sink. Electric radiator have to switch on and leave on as room very cold. No central heating in whole building. Asked to complete what we wanted for breakfast off a 'tick list' like a hospital menu... When we arrived we were met by a friendly guy. The room was fine although a little short on space - definitely more 'guest house' than 'hotel' feel to us. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was Ok, the water plenty hot enough but the room wasnt. We had the electric heater going pretty much the whole time and strangely... More
