Just spent a weekend at the " free" Foxstock festival at the Fox Inn. It is a beautiful setting by the river Windrush. The drinks were expensive which we expected, but we did not expect the same round to increase from £8.50 to £9.50 the next day and then 2 hours later to increase to £10.50. When we queried the... My husband and I stopped here during our exploration of the Cotswolds, what a mistake! I ordered a light lunch from the menu, which was advertised as an omelette with Roses ham and a side salad. It looked more like a pancake and was loaded with grease, a slice of ham was found in half of it and the salad... More

This is a charming local pub in a nice riverside location, enjoying an isolated and peaceful position and has rooms for staying over. By night it looks very charming with its cosy front bar and outdoor seating by the little river, but by day it feels a bit tatty. All of which is ok because it's a local pub but... More

We wanted dinner at a traditional English pub in the Cotswolds and were recommended this place by one of the locals. At first we thought we were in for a treat as the bar was old and quaint, but then we had to wait almost an hour for the kitchen to open and in the meantime had to endure listening... More

This pub advertises itself as "dog friendly". I walked into the front door of this pub with my 2 dogs, both on leads. A black and white dog immediately approached them, snarled and bit one of them on the neck. Apparently this is the landlord's dog so beware!

This is a rustic local pub located beside the river with good outdoor seating - some of it under cover - it's a bit shabby in the eating and bar area and some attention to detail is lacking. All this is ok in a local pub but The Fox is aspiring to be a restaurant with prices to match. We... More

Visited the fox on a semi sunny Saturday afternoon for lunch and a cider and decided to sit outside! Having ordered and paid at the bar we found a seat outside and eagerly awaited our lunch. Eventually the young waiter came out with a tray of food that looked suspiciously like our order but he was calling a different name.... More

We were looking for somewhere to get a lite snack. Arrived at 14:30, ordered a pint of cider and two pints of different bitter. We sat by the river in a roofed area. All the tables were grubby with cigarette ends all over the place. I took two menus and when I sat down to look at them they had... More

We stopped for one night at The Fox Inn on our way back to Dover from a two week trip to the Yorkshire dales. It is hard to find a dog friendly location, nice and clean - but this is it. The room was nice and clean, food much better than average and the bar serving local beer. The site... More

We stopped here on our way to the Cotswolds for an anniversary weekend. The beer was good and the setting by the river is amazing. Also lots of fallen apples which were attracting the wasps. The food was ok, but I expected more for the price. If you price your food at the top end I am happy to pay... More
