Excellent pub with reasonably priced EXCEPTIONAL food and a genuine landlord who has given the place a new lease of life. Live music on a Sunday after lunch which makes lunch a real occasion and was great fun. Impressive effort and we hope he does well.

Spent 3 days at this wonderful Inn recently. The accommodation is excellently positioned for tranquil country walks or just a short drive to some of Oxford shires amazing market towns. Burford is only 4 miles from this Inn. Blenheim Palace, birth place of Winston Churchill, is only a short drive, as is Bladon, which is the final resting place for... More

The Maytime Inn does not disappoint. From the moment we arrived, until our reluctant departure we enjoyed every second. Service is friendly and attentive but never invasive. Our room, for our two night stay was super. We were in the little block at the rear and had the second largest room with a lovely bathroom. The attention to detail was... More

Booked a table on the Wednesday and had never been here before. Lovely venue for a family meal. Nice decor, good choice of foods and delicious wine! Everyone enjoyed there food, we had starters and mains and could not fault it. Good attentive service. Lovely place to go to enjoy the whole family together. Just great!!

As we drove down the lane and it opened into this lovely hamlet we couldn't believe our luck. The Maytime Inn looks superb from the outside. As an estate agent I can say it had plenty of kerb appeal. Even the tables had pots with primroses in. Plenty of parking and a lovely split level bar area. Our room was... More

My wife and I spent two nights at The Maytime Inn, Asthall and enjoyed a wonderful experience. One night was a Christmas gift from our youngest son and his wife and we decided to pay for an additional night ourselves and we are so pleased that we did! The room, the food and the extremely friendly, helpful staff (including Alfie... More

My husband and I stayed here to combine evening visits to Oxford where our son is studying with a couple of days walking. It is conveniently situated for both in a little hamlet called Asthall. We also visited Blenheim Palace, which is quite close, as it rained one day we were there. The staff are very friendly and we received a... More

It was spotlessly clean with a fabulous bathroom, super comfortable bed with Egyptian cotton bed linen. The breakfast was the best I have ever had. All local produce. Beautifuly presented & nothing was to much trouble. maytime Inn your B&B... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Maytime Inn so much last September, we came back again and with some friends whilst enjoying the Cheltenham races. This time we stayed in the Tack room which was a good size with room enough for my husband and I to mill about in. The bathroom had a great shower and as usual the... More

We stayed one night at the weekend as a birthday surprise and, boy, was it a treat. Asthall is a beautiful little hamlet with Mitford connections, so the river-side walk taking in Swinford (lovely pub, great beer - I might get round to doing a separate review of that too) with its amazing church (Mitford graves, astonishing 16th-17th century memorials...
